Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

The latest on the cabin

❤     ❤     ❤     ❤

58 degrees this morning and cloudy again like yesterday when I went for my walk.  Walked down the main street in town and around one of the cemeteries.

Then I went out the other side of town and walked around the industrial park.

For some strange reason this caught my eye and I took a picture of it.  Don't ask me why.  : )
Lots of rabbits about hopping around and eating grass at the sides of the roads.  I must have seen as least a dozen of them.

As always it was nice to be out early in the morning walking. : )
I walked 5.2 miles.

First thing in the morning we went up to Happy Trails and spent the day there working on the cabin.

You may remember this corner is where the bed will be.  You can see where the sky light will be.  Ken framed it out for the window.  Have to cut out the plywood and install the window.  The little bump out in the front by the bed will have a couple of shelves.
We put up 5 more pieces of sheathing and still have 3 more to go and then pieces here and there.  This is what the cabin looked like when we left for home.

After a hard days work we went home and got cleaned up and then went out to Brenda's for supper.  Lots of traffic (at least for here) over by the lake because it is the last day of the county fair.  A bad traffic day here is a good traffic day where we used to live. : )

Stopped in at the Shop and Save on the way home and got a new supply of ice cream.  Not sure if I'll have chocolate chip mint or chocolate marshmallow.  Decisions, Decisions. : )

Hope your day has been a happy one.

I really love your thought for the day - kind of poignant - sometimes all we can really do for our kids is pray for them. My, the cabin is really looking good! What a fun getaway, close to home!

Oh, your cabin is really coming along! Those bump-outs of various kinds will be so very nice -- they add space to an otherwise small area, and will make it seem cute and cozy. :) Your outdoor photos make me a bit homesick for WVa b/c I can really see the similarity of the landscape. Enjoy your ice cream!
