Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A day of errands

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
It was 65 degrees this morning when I walked but a cool breeze kept it from being warm.  It was a cloudy morning and after a few miles a light mist started, light enough that I didn't even get wet.  When I reached the bottom of my driveway it started raining.

Walked down the main road a bit and then turned around and came back to town.  The farm in the picture above is just at the edge of town.  Went around both cemeteries and the loop by the ball park.

I saw a woman walking that I never saw before walking a dog.  We were on opposite sides of the street but did say good morning.  Her dog was a big boxer mix of some kind and it did NOT look friendly so I'm glad they were on the other side. : )

I walked 5.4 miles.

Since it was supposed to be a rainy day we decided to go down to LaVale and make a day of it.  Went in and out of a bunch of stores and got a lot of errands done.  It rained on and off all day but sometimes the rain only lasted a minute.  Crazy weather day.

My gardening gloves have had it so I got a new pair today.  Not just one but I picked up 3 pair.  That should last me a while.

Getting lots of cucumbers from my garden and I made cucumber salad again for supper today and we had them with BBQ spare ribs.

After supper I went out and did more weeding.  This time in the back yard by the raised garden beds near the back door.

Mrs Cardinal having her dinner.
Well that's been my day.  In a little while I bet you can guess what I'll be doing.
Eating Ice Cream.  : )

Hope you smiled often today.

Sounds like you had a great day!
I love those days when we can 'run away' from home, and do and see something a bit different.

Sounds like you'll be set with gardening gloves for awhile. That's a good thing as I know how fast they can wear out.
Those fresh cucumbers sound yummy. They are always so much crisper than the ones from the grocery store.
Great quote you shared. I'm going to remember it and see how many ribbons I can untie today.

Nice view on your walk. I think you live in a pretty area. Great shot of the cardinal. What's your favorite ice cream flavor?

You take the most amazing pictures, Karen! The one of the cardinal is wonderful! Love the Sunflower header pic! I've changed my walking route out of necessity...I don't like to see Doberman's lunging on the fence barking fiercely when I come within eye shot of it. Eventually I am going to make it to that two mile mark...just headed in the other direction. :)
