Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Another sunny day. : )

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
Another beautiful walking morning.  55 degrees and sunny with a few clouds.  I walked the Farm Loop again and around town.
A couple of pictures along my way.

A few people have told/warned me that they have seen a big bear cross the street here from one side of the woods to the other.  I've not seen it though.  I wish I would but at the same time I don't want to.  I'm sure it would just ran away from me but still I would be a bit apprehensive.  Today I saw a couple of deer off to the right and another one off to the left.
Saw a fourth deer by the corn field again.

George was out in his yard and I stopped for a little chat and I saw him again once a got back to town.  Farmer Bill was out too and stopped for a chat with him too.  He's getting things ready for a big family reunion this weekend including a square dance.  Hope this nice weather holds out for them.

Today I walked 5.7 miles.
Found a penny.

While I was out walking Ken went and got some more lumber here in town for the cabin.  He was home for breakfast and I made us pancakes with strawberries.  Then he went up to HT and I stayed home this morning again.  I fed the birds, dumped some of the crushed stone out on the stone patio, did some laundry and hung it out on the line.  Many other things I wanted to do before lunch but ran out of time.  Ken was home for lunch and again like yesterday I went up to HT with him for the afternoon.

Ken got the purlins up on the front part of the roof and painted.  Didn't take a picture because you can't see all that much of a difference from yesterday.  He also started framing out the bump out by the bed.

I picked up more dead fall and added it to the natural fence.  Also cut down a few small trees with the bow saw and added them to the fence too.

When I got tired of doing that I sat in a chair and did some reading and when Ken needed something, I'd go and get it.

It was a beautiful sunny day and temperature in the 70's - delightful weather.  I love summer here.  : )

The other day we picked up some ice cream at Martins.  I got the store brand of chocolate chip and it was really good.  I'll be having some more of that later this evening.

Hope your day went well and you smiled often.
A happy day to you.

Wow, sounds like you are having a good week. I understand that loud talking and singing will scare bears away, so maybe you will want to belt our a few Broad way show tunes as you walk each morning ;-) We have friends who live in Alaska and see bears and moose quite frequently and they said that helps. They have family "sing-a-longs" as they hike. They also said bear spray works well. Stay safe and have a scoop of ice cream for me!

Lots of rain here today! Not too sure I'd want to see a bear that close up and personal. They aren't known for their hospitable behavior around here.:-( Ice cream sounds good!

'Purlins' eh? Now you're getting technical! I'm impressed.

I've had my windows open all summer. Just like you it's always pleasant except for a few humid days here and there. Have a blessed weekend! :)

Your summers there are delightful, so different from here or where you lived before. Hope that Friday is fantastic for you.

Pretty images and scenes. I always enjoy seeing a bear, I have heard that talking or wearing a bell can spook them. The weather the last two days has been awesome. No humidity and great for walking. Happy Friday, have a great weekend!

It sounds like a wonderful walk. I always love seeing deer on my walks. Such beautiful animals :) Ice-craem at the end of the day is the best thing ever, especially if it's chocolate chip :) :)
Thank you so much for your sweet comment! :) Wow, 43 years of marriage are wonderful and very impressive. I'm glad to hear you like it, too. I hope I'll get to post more often now, too.
Have an amazing weekend!

Please, dear friend, don't go looking for the bear! I heard they think humans taste like chicken! MJ

What a great walker you are! I feel exactly the same way about the bears here.

A bear? Have you got a plan? We had a lady treed by a bear twenty years or so ago. She was walking on her own property...a wooded lot. She couldn't outrun it so she climbed a tree. When her husband finally came after her he asked hw how safe she felt up a tree that a bear could've easily climbed itself if it wanted to. Scary. I love the picture of the farm, fields, and that beautiful line of trees along the road.
