Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A working day at HT

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
When I left on my walk this morning it was 60 degrees.  There were some thin low clouds with the sun was filtering through and by the time I was back home the sun was shining brightly.

I walked around the Farm Loop and up the hill behind my house.  When I passed the gas station I spotted Ken there and crossed the street to say hi.  I was home before he was.

Farmer Bill was out and I asked him how the reunion went on Saturday.  He told me it went very well.  Great weather and 90 people were there.

No bears but I did see a deer.
I walked 5 miles.
Didn't find any coins today but yesterday I found a penny.

We spent the day up at Happy Trail getting some more work done on the cabin.  Things went a little more slowly than usual because the nail gun wasn't working but we still made some good progress.
Got the bump out for the bed area framed out.  The plywood on the roof is temporary.  We are going to put a skylight in there.
We put up two pieces of plywood on the back corners and started to frame out the back bump out.  That will either be for a small wood stove or a built in table and bench.
The days just fly by when we are up at HT working.
Then when I get home there is still stuff I have to do around the house.  It's been a busy day but a good one.

Hope your day has been a happy one.

You two are definitely making good progress at HT. I can understand how time flies when you're working up there. I hope you get the nail gun working properly soon.

Sounds like a really busy, but nice day. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished cabin, it's really coming on.

Beautiful photo of the deer. Work is really progressing on your cabin. Do you plan on putting solar panels in? Have a good day!

Cool - your cabin is really coming along now.

The special nooks and crannies that you are giving to the cabin are going to just make the place. I can see you spending happy hours there by the fire reading or making weave-its or putting a puzzle together. Okay, let's be real, more like after you've taken a hike in the autumn woods, cut firewood, made more crushed rock, and baked some chocolate chippers.

Hmm. I just LOVE ruminating on the development of your cabin. Personally, although both a stove and a built-in table/seating would be nice in that bump-out, I think I prefer the idea of table/seating there. You could have window(s) and see out while eating. ANd for some reason I see your little stove in a corner -- cozy :) So fun! I'm glad you got to have a good day there together.

Oh, I meant to say, that first photo is stunning -- truly. Color, composition, all gorgeous. It could be on a poster or calendar. My daughter glanced at the computer and said "That looks like West Virginia." :)
