Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.

A butterfly visits

Picture from the other day when I walked around the Farm Loop

This morning was another cloudy one and the temperature was 60 degrees when I left on my walk.

First stop was the library to drop off a couple of magazines and then over to the post office to mail a couple of things.

As I walked through town I saw the police doing radar and the first time I walked by  someone was getting a ticket and on the way back saw another person getting a ticket.

I walked down a little ways past the HT turn off and then turned around and on the way back turned down the HT road and walked a short way down before turning around and heading back home.
Lisa was out jogging today and the man with the big white dog was out too.
I walked 5.2 miles.
During the month of June I found 1 dime, 1 nickel, and 6 cents for a grand total of 21 cents.

I worked inside the house during the morning and after lunch I went outside.  Finally was able to get the lawn mowed.  It's been too wet to mow.  Then I tackled the never ending weeding job.  Seems like there is always somewhere to weed.  Just get done and then it's time to start all over again.  It's as bad as shoveling snow every day. : )

I called my friend Mary Jo and we had a nice chat and then I read for a while.

A pretty butterfly came by and to check out the cone flowers in my front yard.  Couldn't decide which picture I liked best so posted both of them.

Time to figure out what's for dinner and then after dinner we will be off to church.
That's my day so far.
Hope your day is a happy one.

  2. Great pictures of the butterfly. It looks much like our fritillary butterflies, closest to the pearl-bordered fritillary. We haven't had too many butterflies here yet.

  5. It must have been a good feeling to finally be able to get your lawn mowed. So true about those weeds. Too bad everything doesn't grow that well.
Very pretty shots of your butterfly visitor. I haven't seen too many here yet.

  7. LOVE the butterfly. It is a Fritillary of some sort - either a Great Spangled or a Meadow (I think)

  8. Isn't it better to walk and avoid those speeding tickets?? :) Plus you're getting good exercise. I wonder -- if you keep track of all the loose change you collect for a year (or five years?) you might have a tidy sum, even a surprising amount. Enough for a fun date with the hubby! Cool. The butterfly photos are so nice. I like the second one better with the wings open.

  9. I like to see the butterflies. They are one of the few insects that people like, maybe to include lady bugs, fireflies, and honeybees.

That is good about the ticketing. People are way to careless and fast with driving. I routinely see people driving 45-50 in 25 mph zones.
