Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

My Friday

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
Still no sun this morning, but a least it was just cloudy and no rain or mist.  It was 55 degrees when I left on my walk.  Walked over the library and dropped a book in the book drop.  There are 8 of these big flower pots in the front of the library.
I continued on may way to the post office to drop off a Netflix.  A woman I know was picking up her mail and we stopped for a little chat.
Next my walk took me around the ball park loop and the two cemeteries.  Then continued to the main road and up to Sale Barn Rd to see how the cows were doing, but none of them were around this morning. Didn't go all the way to the end of the road, only went about a quarter of the way.  Then back to town and home.

Haven't seen Kathy for a while or her car.  She drives to town to walk and when I don't see her, I usually see her car.  Maybe she's been walking in some other area lately. Rebecca was out walking her dog and I saw a few rabbits hoping about.

I walked 5.6 miles.

Ken left while I was out walking to meet a friend for breakfast and then they were off to the auction in Terra Alta again.

Planted the rest of the plants this morning and gave them all a good watering.  I ate my lunch out on the porch.  By lunch time we got a peek at the sun and some blue for a few hours.  Thought I'd better get a picture.  : )
Got a call that our porch chairs are ready for pick up but didn't have time to go and get them today.  I'm hoping tomorrow afternoon we can get them.   Can't have nice new chairs on a dirty porch, so today swept it and washed the porch railings which are plastic.  I found good old soap and warm water does the job.  Also washed the picture window.
Noticed the very first cone flower today hiding down there in my front garden.  There will be LOTS of them before long.
Then I sat outside on the porch reading and waiting to see what goodies Ken picked up at the auction.  Here's what he came home with.  The plants are bell peppers and I don't know what the pretty pink and white flowers are.  Looks like I'll be doing a little more planting. : )
From 5 - 8 this evening we met for the Fingerprint ministry we do putting together the book of Romans in Spanish.  Always a fun time.  : )  Didn't eat anything before we went and by 8 we were starving so on the way home we stopped at KFC.

And now we are home having our usual evening.

Hope your day has been a happy one.

Too often we underestimate the power of a
touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment,
or the smallest act of caring,
all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

Some of you have been asking about my mom.  She saw the bone doctor yesterday and though her leg is coming along good the bones are still not strong enough for her to put weight on it yet.  So they have to wait another 4 weeks and then see.  So in the meantime she is still at the nursing home.  Some good days, some not so good, but she is not in any pain and is hanging in there. : )  Thanks again for the cards, I know some of you have sent a couple.

Eileen - It would be great if we could finish the cabin by winter but no, we don't really have a time line.  Not having a deadline keeps it fun and not like work.  Who knows what we will get up to next. : )

Jeanne - Yes, you found the spider.

Kim - we have a couple of those bee houses in our yard too that we put up last year - haven't seen any bees in them yet though.  Maybe this year.

Mary - Yes, I do believe that is a Mason Bee house.

John - We thought since we have so many rocks all over HT we could crush our own and use the stone on the driveways.  I'm sure we will come up with many uses for it. : )

Pretty flowers and a nice scenic walk. The sky shot looks pretty, it took awhile for our clouds to go away and see some blue sky. Have a great weekend!

Looks like another pretty walk.
Don't you just love eating lunch outside. We've been eating dinner outside almost every night. We see so many things we'd never have noticed from the kitchen table.
Fun finds from the auction. I clicked to enlarge the photo and my guess would be that the flowers are dianthus.
I scrubbed down my porch railing this week too. I used soap and water, but had to use some bleach too as it's rather shaded and the green film had settled on the white railing. All is nice and clean now, thankfully.

Good to get an update on your mother. That is not ideal but some progress is the best we can hope for at times. I've been wondering about her.
