Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

An outing

A picture from yesterday's walk
✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
I woke up late this morning because it was dark and rainy so didn't start walking until a little after 7:00.  It wasn't rainy when I left but I took along my umbrella just in case it started raining again.  It was a warm 68 degrees.  Dropped off a Netflix at the post office and it hadn't started raining yet and I didn't feel like carrying the umbrella so  walked back home and dropped it off.

A couple of miles later it started raining and by that time I was pretty warm so it felt good to just get wet from the rain. : )

Walked around town, the cemeteries and the ball park loop.  This is the cemetery near the Drane House and where the arrow is pointing is just about where Happy Trails is.
I see that one of the horses down by the Drane House has had a baby. : )  I took this picture at standing in the cemetery and zoomed in on them.
It rained on and off during all of my walk as well as the rest of the day too.
Walked 5.2 miles.

Since it was a rainy day and couldn't work up at HT we drove over to Morgantown to the comcast office and pick up a new cable box. The old one hasn't been working for a while.

On the way home we stopped at the Bruceton Antique Mall.  It was the first time we had been there.  It looked like a very small place but once inside it was really big and we had a nice time browsing at all the goodies.  I came home with an old garden clipper which I am going to use.  I also got the blue deer which is in the middle of the picture.  I already had the cow and the horse.  I've heard say if you have three of something it is a collection, so I guess I'm collecting these too now  : )
Right around the corner we had lunch in a little place called The Mill Stone.  Good food and friendly service.

From there we took a long way home winding through the beautiful scenery of West Virginia.

We had a very enjoyable day.
Hope your day was a happy one too.

Yep, that is what they say about collections and it looks like you have the start of another very cute one.
Your day sounds like a lot of fun... even the rain. I just came in from lugging the hose around the yard. It has been sooo hot and sooo dry. I would welcome a rain shower about now.
Love that photo of the mama horse keeping such a close eye on her baby.

Oh Karen! I wish I'd known you were going to be here in Bruceton Mills today! I would have come in and we could have had lunch together! I'm glad you enjoyed visiting our little town. I need to e-mail you my phone number so that anytime you are going to be over this way again we can make a point of getting together!

Your photo of the mama horse and her baby is so precious! I just love viewing your pictures!

What a great quote...

So do you have to start over after a walk in the rain? I'd need a warm shower to warm up! Your day sounds very pleasantly spent.

Nice walk. I love rolled and baled hay like that - It really looks cool. The photo of the horse and baby is darling, oh I also think your pretty blue figures are quite neat.
