Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A little work up at HT

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
No actual rain this morning but it was cloudy and once in a while I could feel a little mist and it was 50 degrees.

Walked through town and down the main road towards Happy Trails.  Wild daisies are blooming now along the side of the road.
Turned in at the road leading to HT and walked half way down the road and turned around here.  Up ahead you can see the mist.
Headed back toward the main road here.
As I was walking I saw a deer run across the road but it happened too quick to get a picture and also saw a few rabbits, and a groundhog.
Walked back to town and then walked around the ball park loop a couple of times and then home.

Walked 5.2 miles.

Though it stayed cool and cloudy all day at least it stopped raining and we were able to get a little work done up at Happy Trails.

I like when I have a job that I can all on my own and today I got to nail the brackets on the joists.  There 16 of them.
Discovered this little snake under a tarp.  He didn't move a bit when I snapped this picture of him.  When I looked a little be later he was gone.
This is what the cabin looked like when we were done working for the day.  This is from the back.   At the back half where the boards go longways there will be stairs leading up to a small porch where the door will be.  The front where the boards go in the opposite direction will be a little mud room which steps up into the cabin.
When we got back home there was just time to make supper and get ready to go to church.
Home again, watched a little television and had a snack.  No ice cream this evening.  I was hungry and didn't feel like a goodie so I had a left over piece of pizza.

A bit tired now, will read a little before I go to bed.
Good night and pleasant dreams.

The flowers (1st pic today), the update at HT, the Web!!!!, the Rainbow on Saturday, and a couple of walk pictures all are great! Thanks for sharing and congrats on the work at HT.

You must be tired after the walk and working on the cabin. I love the pretty flowers, daisies are one of my favorites. Have a happy Thursday!

Hello Karen,
It seems like forever since I've had a chance to drop by. Thank you for your faithfulness to check in over at my place. Your words of encouragement are always a blessing to me.

I've enjoyed looking back through your blog posts and seeing all of the beautiful nature pictures, as well as the yummy looking food pictures of late. I had to chuckle when I looked at the picture of the two egg yolks because I recently had the same experience. A friend from church gives us eggs from her chickens and this morning's eggs definitely were a pale yellow instead of the dark orange of the fresh eggs.

I love the green you have here for your backgrounds...really makes your pictures pop out! I was especially excited to see the ground work done for the cabin! Thank you for the pictures all along the way...you are creating a history book of sorts!

I also wanted to check to see how your mom is doing. I need to get another card out to her.

Have a wonderful day, my friend!

I imagine you were very tired. Another busy day for you and Ken. Love the wild daisies. Ours are not blooming here quite yet. Enjoy your day!

It is great that you are taking photos as you go. Once it is done, you can put together a Happy Trails cabin slideshow.

I like the snake. Maybe it is a brown snake???
