Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

28 cents : )

Stacks of pallets

This morning when I walked it was 45 degrees, cloudy with bit of a breeze.  Cooler than it has been but good walking weather.

I walked the Farm Loop and once back to town I walked around the ball park loop twice and then home.

John - This picture is for you.  I took a picture last month of this stream on Farmer Bills farm and you hoped I'd take a picture when things turned green. The first picture is HERE.
Every time I walk the Farm Loop and I get here, I turn around and take a look at this view.  I don't ever want to take it for granted how lucky I am to be able to walk here.  It is hard to tell from the picture but I've just walked up a hill.  : )
An uneventful walk but I enjoyed it all the same.
Oh, and I find some coins this morning.  2 dimes, a nickel, and three pennies.  : )
I walked 5.5 miles.

We went to Lowe's and got the concrete mix and then went up to Happy Trails with it.  Water is of course needed to mix it so we had water in the blue barrels and used the power washer hooked up to the generator.
We mixed 7 bags for each of the two back footings which filled the tubes right up to the top.  Then the brackets were put in the cement and leveled.  Here is one of them.
That was all we had time for today.

Had a quick supper of grilled cheese and then I had to leave at 5:15 to walk to the library for my book club.
Ken picked me up from there and off to Wednesday night church we went.

Home now and just about to have my snack of chocolate chip mint ice cream. : )

Hope your day was a happy one.

Words - so innocent and powerless as they are,
as standing in a dictionary,
how potent for good and evil they become
in the hands of one who knows how to combine them.

Eileen - We have no intention of moving in the cabin we are building on HT.  It is just to be a dry one room cabin that is just a fun thing to do.  Just think of it as a vacation home only we don't have to travel to get to it, it's just 3 miles from our home.  I like the comforts of a nice warm home in town.  : )  It is great fun to have the land and play around up there.

FurryGnome - Ken does do most of the work but I do my share too.  I've learned a lot being his 'helper.'    And yes, it is fun. : )

That stack of pallet wood reminds me of something I heard about people using pallet wood to build things!

It sounds like today's walk was more profitable than some!

Your snack is one of my favorites! Enjoy it!

You do really work hard! Mixing cement is not a lightweight job!

I am glad Eileen asked the question...have wondered myself! I suppose it can be thought of as a vacation home that you don't have to travel far to get to OR as a playhouse in the backyard that you do have to go a ways to get to. Would you use it as a guest house for visiting family or friends?

Your view is so beautiful! You really found a fortune in money yesterday. Looking forward to seeing the finished cabin.

Always enjoy your walks, and like you I say I hope I never take for granted the clean fresh air and solitude on the farm.
Lots of work goes into projects like this one , but also lots of fun especially with that special someone! Enjoy and be blessed!
