Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Good News

My Mom's hip operation was a high risk because of her heart but I'm happy to say she came through her half hip replacement very well.  We saw her in recovery and she opened her eyes just long enough to see that we were there and then went right back to sleep.  Tomorrow when we go to the hospital we will find out some more about when she can go back near home for the rehab.

Just before she went for her operation she was very calm and knew that God was in control.  It was something to witness her faith in God.  : )

It was a long wait in the hospital and we got to know another family waiting for their family member too.  The time went by a little faster talking with them.  So many people sitting around waiting all with a story of their own.  Makes me even more grateful for my own good health.

We've eaten in quite a few different places this week and I'm looking forward to be able to cook some meals again, though that won't be for a few days yet.

The weather here has been cold and windy.  We've had some snow showers and lots of wind but today it's been a nice sunny day.

I'm hoping tomorrow to be able to get around to do some blog visiting.  I really appreciate all the comments, prayers, and good thoughts from you all.  Bloggers friends really are great.
Thanks again.

Praise God! I know what it means to observe a mother's faith...my eyes are a bit misty in a good way at the thought. I asked God to remind me to pray for you folks and your mom and step-dad. Had to laugh when I was cleaning today under the sofa and found a dime and a nickel and, yes, I prayed! =D

So glad to hear the good news about your mom. Going through surgery is quite an ordeal for both the patient and the family ... and I'm saying that from my own experience. I know that great feeling to make contact again after the surgery is over. Blessings to you and take it easy getting back home and into the regular routine.

It makes me happy to hear your Mum`s operation went well :) and I am also glad to hear about her faith in God. I hope she will recover well. My Dad had a surgery in his hip when he slipped on the ice about a year ago, after some months (3-4 months) he was almost as good as before.

So happy to hear about Aunt Ida and her surgery. Have been reading your blog every day hoping for good news and now we have it. Just need to get her to rehab so she can heal. Keep posting about her recovery. Say hello to Aunt Ida for me and tell her I have been thinking about her.

I'm so glad to know how things went for your mom yesterday. I know it is a relief to have that behind her. The rehab will come along well, too, I am sure. I will continue to pray.
