Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A day working outside

Striped

46 degrees and cloudy this morning when I walked.  I walked the Farm Loop.  I've just left the main road and this road is the start going around the loop.  Up the hill passed the houses and down a hill is Farmer Bill's farm.
This stream is on Farmer Bill's land.
After walking the FL I walked to the end of town on the main road and then back home.  I see lots of daffodils blooming now as I walk along.  Here are some along a fence.
Didn't see any others out on this lovely early Saturday morning.
I walked 5.2 miles.
I've decided to cut my morning walk down to 5 miles.  It gets me home 15 minutes earlier and I figured 5 miles is a good healthy morning walk.  Besides I'll be doing a lot of walking up at Happy Trail too.

The sun came out not long after I'd gotten home.  Though it was still a bit windy it was a beautiful day to be outside and after I hung up two loads of laundry on the line we spent the whole day working in the yard. Pulled up more rose bushes and shrubs and Ken took them up to HT.  I did some weeding and straightening up of a couple of the front gardens.  Lots of daisies are starting to come up. Still one more garden down front by the street left to weed and get reading for planting.

Last fall Ken made this fence out of little trees that he cut down at HT and I'm going to have a garden there.  Have a lot of work to get it ready for planting.
Ken cut some wood from the old deck we took down and made six garden boxes and we laid them out inside the fence.
I'll take pictures as the work progresses and sometime during the summer I hope to show you a garden with lots of good things growing in it. : )

Hope your Saturday was sunny and bright.
A happy day to you.

to feel at one's fingertips the possibilities of the new season.

Looks like a nice garden arrangement! Our snow is gone, but it's still too wet to get out and do any yard work.

I do love that garden area! You will have such a wonderful garden this summer! I hope to some day live somewhere it isn't so hot and we can have a lovely veggie garden. By the way, a card went off in the mail to your mom this morning! Enjoy your Sunday!

Hi Happyone, I put a card in the mailbox for your mom on Friday ... hope it will give her some smiles ... your photos in this post are well done, as always. You are really, really good at your ability to compose photos. Favs in this post are the first one ... well named "stripes" ... and the stream. Hope you will show us the stream again in the summer when all is green around it. Have a happy day.

Love the fence... Great use of some of those small trees. AND--I'm sure you will have fun planting and caring for your garden. Can't wait to watch the progress...

We are working hard in our yard now also --but our gardening is flowers and plants. I planted some new Hosta last year--and am enjoying watching their progress... AND--now that the Daffodils are almost finished, the Tulips are gorgeous...

Have a wonderful Sunday.
Hugs,
Betsy

OH! I am so excited to see your garden, so looking forward to seeing it grow, good luck and happy gardening. Your fence is beautiful!
I haven't walked in a while at least not consistently, I make all kinds of excuses, I so admire you for being faithful!!
Blessings,
Sue

Wow. The grass is very green and lush! You are so busy with your property. Are the bushes and roses too ratty or in the wrong place? Only five miles? Hmmmm...this represents quite a shift. =D

I have thought of you all day today and prayed accordingly. I've noticed that you didn't post yesterday or yet today. I do hope that all is well. We went to Grantsville this evening and my husband showed me where to get off the interstate to head your way. I hope that all is well with your mom. Hugs, Dianna
