Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A bit of green

Back of the Drane House walking down the road by the school.
Zoomed in just a bit.

Left close to my usual time at 6:40 this morning.  It was 42 degrees, windy and dark.  The sun rose at 7:27.  I walked the Farm Loop.  Sure nice walking up that way again.  Left in plenty of time to avoid the school traffic.

None of the cows or horses were around today, at least not where I could see them.

Nice seeing and hearing the birds every morning again.  I saw a Red Winged Blackbird when walking around one of the cemeteries.

The Farm Loop is a 4.2 mile loop from my house so I walked around town to get my full 6 miles in.

I've been home today doing a bit of work around the house.  It turned into a beautiful sunny day and in the low 60's so after lunch we went outside in the yard.  I pulled out a rose bush, one of four that I'm getting rid of this year and did a little raking and just checking out things in the yard.
Look what's coming up in my front garden. : )  The first daffodils.
Our son David arrived late this afternoon with his two kids, Scout (11) and Japhy (9) which are of course our grandkids. : ) They are having their spring break and David has them for the week with him in NJ so he came for a visit.  They live in OK.  Nice to see them all again. : )   Having a great visit.

I made David's favorite supper of tuna casserole but instead of using canned tuna I used canned chicken so turned it into chicken casserole.  : )

We watched some old videos after supper and now the kids are downstairs with Ken and the trains.
Soon it will be time for ice cream.

That's it for today.
Hope your day has been a good one.
happyone : )
What do you get when you cross poison ivy
with a four-leaf clover.
A rash of good luck. : )

Sorry for that bad joke. : )

John - Thank You.  : )  My camera is just a simple point and shoot. Nikon COOLPIX L620.  I just walk along and think oh that would make a nice picture and I take a picture.  God has made all the beauty, I just record some of it. : )

Billy - No, I don't quilt so don't use the buttons for that and have never thought about using them in the afghans I knit.  I knit a lot of baby blankets and buttons are probably not a good idea on them. : )

Deb - No, she lives 10 hours away and asked us not to be there.  We will be visiting up there in May.

Hi Happyone, Thank you for answering my question. You are so right about God creating the beauty. And I think God is using you to share it with us. Blessings to you for that. I also like your new profile picture. Have a fine day! John

Hi There, Glad you can get outside and walk again. It was a long winter for most of us... We had our winter in about 2-3 weeks and it was a whopper... I am so happy to see the warmer temps this week and some SUNSHINE....

I'm sure you enjoyed seeing your son and the grandchildren.
Hugs,
Betsy
