Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Walking on the layout

Going up to Happy Trails the other day.
☃     ☃     ☃     ☃
More snow, wind and cold so a basement walk for me today.  Three sessions - 3 miles, 1 mile and another 3 miles.

Did a quick vacuum and dusting and spruced up the bathroom this morning.  Then had a few people over for lunch and a look at Ken's train layout.  Pastor Grant (youth pastor) and Krista couldn't make our open house on New Years Day so they came today with her parents.  Krista is the one I made the baby sweater for and she is due any day now.  We had a nice time.  : )

Ken put me on his train layout taking a walk. : )
It's been snowing all day and the wind gusts every so often made it look like a blizzard at times.  It's gotten colder during the day too.  Have a feeling I'll be walking inside again tomorrow.

I finished knitting the orange scarf I made for myself to wear on those cold windy morning walks.  Knitted a some on the slippers too.

That's about it for this Monday.
Hope you had a good day and smiled often.

What good is the warmth of summer without
the cold of winter to give it sweetness.

How nice that you had guests for lunch! Where is the nearest hospital for that baby to be born? I hope the snowstorm doesn't cause any complications reaching it.

I really like that white snow under the beautiful blue sky in your first photo. It's neat that Ken included you in his layout.

Very pretty rolling hills on the way to Happy Trails!
It makes perfect sense that Ken include you walking in the town of his train layout. :)

Hi There, I've been keeping up with all of your snow. We have had almost NONE here ---just tiny bits on several occasions. I 'm hoping we will have at least one nice snow!!!!! ha

Glad some more friends got to see the train set-up... I'm sure they loved it. Ken obviously does a great job with his hobby.

Hugs,
Betsy

The road to happy trails is beautiful. Sounds like a nice time having company over for lunch! That could be a mini you out walking on the train display. Have a happy day!

Beautiful snow scene but glad you are keeping safe inside when the conditions aren't good.

i wonder what part of New Zealand your pastor is visiting? - maybe he is nearby.
Fancy Ken putting you on the rail layout, but then, why not?

You look like you are enjoying your walk on the train layout, plus it looks warmer than your usual walks lately, right?
