Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

This and That

A couple of cabins in the woods across the lake.
☀     ☀     ☀     ☀
At 1 degree and windy this morning I thought it best that I do my walking in the basement today.  First thing in the morning I walked 3 miles, 1 mile just before lunch, and the last 2 miles later in the day.

Finished knitting the pink and purple slippers last night and this morning I sewed it up so that is another project that is finished.

The sun came out but was very cold all day and it looked like there was glitter in the air.  So pretty to see.

Krista had her baby in the wee hours of Thursday morning.  : )  They named him Deward Cohen, he was 7 lbs 8 oz. and 20 inches long.   Mom and baby doing fine.

I know the lady who lives in this house and it makes me smile that she drives her car to work.  She parks her car right here where I'm standing taking the picture and walks from the house along the sidewalk to her car and then drives to the parking lot where the arrow is.  If she left from her front door it would be just about the same walk.  : )  I see her some mornings walking her dog around the block.  Took the picture a few days ago.
After lunch went to Walmart to pick up a few things and sure enough once again we saw people from our church, two women and a couple.

This evening I'll be doing some more knitting on a baby blanket.  It's just plain knitting of squares and then sewing them together.  It's a small blanket for newborns so it won't take long to finish.
My ice cream flavor tonight will be chocolate marshmallow.

Hope your day has been sunny and bright.

Brr! How cold! Do you expect colder temperatures over the week-end? We are going to have to meet somewhere and enjoy an ice cream snack together. Tonight, I enjoyed Mint Chocolate Chip!

Glad to hear you opted to walk in the basement today. Even at 20 degrees this afternoon it was cold out! I believe I heard that Sunday the high is to be 8!

Glad to hear that Krista had her baby...and that they are both doing fine.

I enjoy reading about your knitting projects! You make quick work of them. Did you work on the puzzle today?

Have a great evening.

I've been giving up on outdoor walking this week too, at -24C today (-10F). Using the bike in the basement.

Oh it would be nice to stay in one of those cabins nestled in the woods and with a view of the lake! Glad to hear that Krista had her baby and both are doing well. :-)

That first photo reminds me of Vermont. Another photo of a red barn looked so much like New England. I am still shocked by the cold you are having, but it seems that you are not being buried in snow. And I am so glad that the baby has arrived! Good news. I followed your sugar ccokie link and made note of it. I may get some ambition. =D
