Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.

A walk outside

☁     ☁     ☁     ☁
It was cloudy but no snow falling from the sky and just a patch here and there of ice this morning, it was 22 degrees and a slight breeze so I headed outside for my morning walk.  : )

Went to the post office first and mailed off some of those cards I bought yesterday.  Then continued up the road and walked the farm loop.  It has been quite a while since I got to walk there and it was nice getting back.
This driveway is a sheet of ice.
The new barn that I watched being built is finished now.
It sure is a big one.
I also walked around the industrial park and then headed back home.
Walked 6 miles and I even found a penny. : )

I've got a good start on the weave-it squares for the baby blanket I'm making.  This is for no one in particular, just making one for the next baby that comes along. : )
The baby shower this afternoon went well.  Katherine got a lot of great stuff for her baby.  As usual we all had a great time and laughed a lot.  Took a picture of her opening my gift but the little blue hat came out blurry.
I was asked if I could knit a hat for a preemie baby so I've added that to my list of projects.  Such a tiny little hat goes quickly so it will go to the top of my list. I'll start it later while watching television.

While I was gone this afternoon Ken glued the frame on the puzzles and we just got finished hanging them up.
Cows in the front room which is our library.
The birds are hanging in the guest room which is decorated in a bird theme.
Well, that's been my Saturday.  It's been a good day. : )
Hope you've had a good day as well.

  1. I'm glad you were able to walk outside today. Wasn't the weather beautiful during the afternoon and early evening? Our high reached 48 here this afternoon. Those puzzles are both beautifully framed. Those are treasures.

  2. Pretty scenes from your walk today. The red barn really stands out in the snow. :)
I can't help but think of my grandmother when you talk about and show your weave-it squares. She made afghans out of those squares for all us grandkids when we graduated from high school. They were made of wool, though, and I didn't know it until after I washed and dried it. :(
Your puzzle pictures look nice in their new frames.
