Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Home again on a drizzly day

✼     ✼     ✼     ✼
Another warm up last night and all the ice melted.  It was 44 degrees this morning with a very light mist and breezy too.  Didn't bother with rain pants and slicker and just got a little bit damp.

Walked down the main road just past the HT turnoff again and back to town and walked all over the place in town without any planned route.

No other people out again.  Didn't see any animals except for a few cows and a couple of dogs.  Thankfully the dogs were tied up.
A couple pictures along my walk.
Great to be outside first thing in the morning walking and I walked 6.4 miles.

Another day at home with drizzle and clouds but the house smells good with a loaf of bread baking.

I looked up the appetizers suggested by Lindy and Anonymous and found 4 more so I think I'm set with enough recipes.

Doing some knitting today and some reading too.
I'm sending this months list of prisoners Christmas cards.  Each time I get a list from church I write a short note or note card.  I usually don't hear back from them but then there are a few who do and then we start writing back and forth.  As I mentioned before it all goes through the church.
I'll be writing those Christmas cards out a little later.

So that's about it for today.
Hope you catch a glimpse of the sun where you are.  Smile and send it my way. : )

We are finally having a little sunshine here today after three days of clouds and much rain yesterday! The aroma of bread baking really makes a house smell like a home.

I missed the appetizer discussion and will be scrolling back to read all about it.
Sending a big smile your way.

That is so nice that you are sending those Christmas cards to prisoners. What a nice ministry! We have had a cloudy, bleak, cool and rainy day here too and I love it! See you tomorrow!

It is so cold here for the time of the year, supposed to be summer. Not as cold as you are having though. I'm hoping for sunny weather on Christmas Day as we are hosting this year.

Your 'drizzly' images are very pretty - you still have some color there.

I hope you like the appetizer - just be sure to use freshly grated Parmesan, not the stuff in the can. :-)

Hi Happyone, I really like the variety of countryside around your place. Everything from the vast open spaces to the neat little nature preserves like we see today. Congrats on that! Thank you for stopping by my blog and your kind comments. Starting today, I am going to follow your lead, and answer questions on the blog. I think that is a good way to share the information. Have a great day! John

Nothing can rival the smell of freshly baked bread. I like Ward's quote you shared.

That's kind to write the prisoners. It must be very lonely to be in a prison, and pretty awful. I know a lot of them have done terrible things, but many are non-violent. It's a nice thing to do. I like the photos.
