Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.

A Farm Loop Walk

✼     ✼     ✼     ✼
30 degrees this morning and cloudy but no ice, rain or snow.  I didn't need hiking boots, rain gear or ice grippers.  : )  I walked the Farm Loop and it was nice getting to walk that way again.  It's seems like it's been a long time since I walked that way.

Walking up past Farmer Bill's farm all the cows were along the fence where I walk by.  They aren't usually there, but up on a field not near the road.  I stopped to talk to them and they all looked my way and some even mooed at me.  I took a picture of them but it was still a bit dark and the picture came out really dark.

No one at all up around the loop and not even a car passed by.  I love it along the open road up there with farms on either side of me.
The next 4 pictures are along the the farm road.
Farmer Georg's Farm and you can see town where the lights are in the back ground.
 Just past Farmer Georg's Farm
This barn again.  I take quite a lot of pictures of this barn.
You can barely see the barn in the picture above
down at the bottom of the hill.
This is the farm house at the dairy farm.
The chickens live here too and all the cats.
Also where the little dog nipped me in the leg.
When I got back to town I stopped in at post office and put a letter in the mail slot and then walked around town to finish up my walk.

I walked 6.6 miles.

It's been a cloudy day and the sun came out just for a quick peek to tease us.  It has felt like snow all day.

Puttering around the house in the morning.  I tried making rolls for sandwiches but they came out too small.  I made the dough in the bread machine and then make 16 rolls out of the dough and baked them on a stone.  Next time I will only make 8 and shape them long instead of round and see how that works.  These look more like diner roll size but they sure do taste good.
After lunch we went up to Happy Trails just to check things out.  Didn't stay very long.  All fine up there.  Amazing how far you can see in the woods now that there are no leaves.  Fall and winter are my favorite times up there.

I'm really enjoying my Agatha Christie book and will probably finish it later.

Hope your day has been a happy one.

My trust in God flows out of the experience of his loving me,
day in and day out,
whether the day is stormy of fair,
whether I'm sick or in good health,
whether I'm in a state of grace or disgrace.
He comes to me where I live and loves me as I am.

John -  A lot of Maryland is like you imagined with lots of people but I live way out in the northern, most western part of the state you can get in Garrett County where the population of the whole county is just under 30,000.

  1. Yup, you are way out in the boonies and even the weather is different...more like New England or New York. The rolls look delicious!

I see why you like walking the farm loop. Too bad it was too dark for your photo of the cows. Cute red barn.
