Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Train Ride

❤     ❤     ❤     ❤
52 degrees this morning, cloudy, felt like it would rain any moment but it never did and I stayed dry.

Headed over to public works and slid the water bill down the slot and then over to the post office to mail a letter.  Then another walk all over town.  This morning I saw the lady who wears the ear phones walking around the loop by the ball park.  Then later up on the main street through town I saw Lisa and we stopped for a little chat.

I walked 6.6 miles.

Today was another Super Senior outing and this time we went on a train ride.  We caught the train down in Romney, West Virginia (thought of you Kerri)  which is about 1 1/2 hours from home and went for a scenic 3 hour ride.  The weather was cloudy so not the greatest but at least it didn't rain.  I'll let the pictures do the talking.

It was nice and relaxing and we had a nice time.  On the way home 9 of us stopped at an Italian restaurant and had dinner.

Hope your day was a happy one.
happyone : )

A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery while on a detour.

You have some wonderful quotes!

A train ride sounds like fun, and so does that dinner at an Italian restaurant! What a good Thursday!

Now that sounds like fun! Too bad the weather didn't fully cooperate. The fall colors in your photos look very pretty and the dinner sounds like a nice way to wrap up the day.

Oh, I've ridden that train. The Potomac Eagle was what it was called when I rode it. How FUN!! And I've seen eagles from that train :)
Brings back great memories :)

Wow! When we lived in Romney we also rode that train, and like Kerri said, it was the Potomac Eagle, and it was a beautiful tour. I didn't know they still had this running; now I want to go back to Romney to ride it again.

It has been a long time since I have seen a 'Chessie' train. Beautiful fall scenery, even if the sun didn't peek out from behind the clouds! Looks like it was a fun day.

What a fun day for the seniors! I'm glad you and Ken could go. You have more fall color in your trees than we do this year. Did I tell you I sent an e-mail to you yesterday? Mary Jo
