Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

An afternoon walk

Fall at the Drane House
❤     ❤     ❤     ❤
Thought you might like to see all the Romans books packed up in the boxes that we put together last week.  Each box contains 390.  They are all lined up here on both sides of the in the front of church.  Today they head off to Mexico.

Yesterday afternoon we spent a little time up at Happy Trails walking around the trails.  I have a nice mile loop I can walk up there.  When it was time to go home I walked down the driveway and here comes Ken driving down in the truck.

I got up an hour late again this morning.  I don't set an alarm and I think my body is just getting ready for the time change coming up in a few weeks.  It was dark and rainy which probably didn't help either.  Anyway, I decided not to walk in the morning.

We left after breakfast to do food shopping at Walmart.  We were there a little after 9:00 and there was hardly anyone there. Back at home I put everything away in the cabinets.  I usually do Body Electric in the afternoon but I did it just before lunch today.  Then a little after lunch it looked like the sun was trying to come out so I decided to go for a walk and got on my walking clothes. When I walked out the door I was surprised by how warm it had gotten and went back inside to get on some cooler clothes.  It was 70 degrees!!
I just walked all over the place around town.  I took the picture  up the end of the park which is just a block over from where I live. The sun did come out for a short while, but then it clouded up again and I got rained on a couple of times. I didn't see anyone else out walking but there was lots of activity around town.  Joe was moving piles of dirt around at the park, people coming and going out of the different shops in town, people out in their yards, and some Comcast trucks at a few houses.  Everyone busy on this Monday afternoon.

I walked 6 miles.
I didn't find any coins, but I found a dollar bill. : )  I only save coins though in my glass banks.

I think I'll go and read now till it's time to make supper which will be Tacos.
Hope you're having a tip top day.

I hope everyone that is reading this is having a really good day.

just know that in every new minute that passes
you have an opportunity to change that.

Glad you got your walk in --even if it was the afternoon... We've had very warm weather here also---and tons of rain. We may have some severe stuff tomorrow.. Hope not though.

I read something recently that made me think of you... It said something like this: "If you find a penny (or any coin), that means that your angel is sending some love to you." Neat, huh?
Hugs,
Betsy

It is warm here, too. I had the day off and it felt great to relax and get things done after being away for nine days. Nice to break up the routine at times and take the afternoon walk. Art

Amazing work you have done on the translation for James!

We had a high here today of 82 degrees! Not too much like fall, is it? Rain is due in tomorrow - probably with severe storms at times.

Tacos sound good! We haven't had those in quite awhile.

Chilly and very rainy here today. I was going to walk inside but the arthritis in my ankles really flared up. Time for cortisone shots. I hope this rain fizzles out before it reaches out east by you. Very nice pictures

My your area is perfectly "Autumn" colored. I think the books you put together is an awesome project.
Always a pleasure to stop in and see what you've been up to.
