Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Pumpkins

Picture of the Day
Farm
❤     ❤     ❤     ❤
Nice to get back to walking in the early morning today.  It was 54 degrees and cloudy.

Walked to the town municipal building and dropped the water bill off in the slot and then over to the post office to drop a letter in the slot there.

Then it is up the hill, around the Farm Loop and around town.  I felt a few drops of rain but that was it.  The sun came out later in the day.

Farmer Bill has 38 rolls of hay all ready to feed his cows for the winter.  I like seeing them all in a row.
A couple of times I saw geese flying in their V formation.  That's another sight I like to watch.  Took a few pictures but they were all too far away.

No people did I see out there this morning.
I found another penny - this one too was tales up.
I walked 6.2 miles.

Mid morning we left to do a bit of food shopping at Walmart and also stopped in at the Tractor Supply Store.

Came home and Ken made us BLT's for lunch with tomatoes out of our garden.

We have cut the first pumpkin out of our pumpkin patch.  Here's Ken doing the honors.
Here are a few more.  There are still more growing on the vines and we will end up with about 24 of them.  We are pleased with the result of our first crop.  We have learned a few things and maybe next year we will do better.
It's been another good day. : )
Hope all is well with you and you day is a happy one.

If you go looking for a friend,
you're going to find they're very scarce.
If you go out to be a friend,
you'll find them everywhere.

Three Thankful Things Today
  1. That I got to see rolled hay and flying geese on my walk
  2.  BLT's
  3. Our first pumpkins

Pretty pumpkins! What will you do with them? Now you make me want to try growing them, although I'll need a bigger gardening spot for that. I like seeing rolls of hay, too.

Love your Pumpkins.. That proves that Fall is here, huh???? Actually I had some Pumpkin Coffee this morning... LOVE it.

We were in the low 50's here this morning --so we took the chill out of the house with a fire in the fireplace.... Hope you all have a wonderful fireplace to love!

I love BLT's also.
Hugs,
Betsy

Lovely signs of fall in your area. Especially your pumpkin harvest. Wow, that is a wonderful first attempt. I'm anxious to see what you will do with all of them.
I do love a BLT and even better with homegrown tomatoes.
I'm bursting at the seams with excitement over here. Have sent you an e-mail explaining. Hope you received it and I had the correct e-mail address.

I am really late reading this one. I must have been busy yesterday, and you are probably almost ready for a post for today! I've had lunch, but now I'm hungry for a BLT!
You have a very good pumpkin harvest! That is a beautiful farm picture!

Those rolls of hay are so cool looking. Looks like you got a pretty good pumpkin harvest. Are you using them for decoration or eating purposes?
