Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A rainy Thursday

Picture of the Day
A Goldfinch stopped on the stones by the pond to take a drink.
Couldn't get the camera out fast enough to catch him drinking,
but still was happy to get him sitting there.
Picture not that great - taken through the kitchen window and zoomed in a bit.

65 degrees this morning, cloudy and not the breeze from yesterday but a good strong wind.
It felt like it would rain any moment but it never did while I was out walking.

Another random walk for me all over the place.  Less activity than yesterday.  Only saw one other person out walking their dog.

The man working on rebuilding his shed/garage has made a little more progress.
I walked 6.3 miles.
Sunrise: 6:55
Sunset:  7:32

Ken did more work on the stone patio putting down the stones he collected from HT yesterday until the rain drove him inside.

I've been puttering around the house and getting the last bit of housework done for the week.

A happy day to you.

Three Thankful Things Today
  1.  My old comfortable jeans
  2.  Out for pizza night
  3.  Fresh basil out of the garden

The goldfinch looks so cute on your waterfall. I've noticed a lot of hummingbirds visiting the plants and feeder around ours. I never have much luck taking pictures of them as they are so speedy. By the time I get the camera focused, they're long gone.
Can't beat a comfortable pair of jeans or fresh basil.

That is such a pretty goldfinch! I never see them here. Love the Peter Marshall quote.

How sweet to see the Goldfinch and watch him drink. I enjoyed seeing your photo of him.
As always it's a pleasure to stop in and see what you've been up too.

It's a nice photo. It is not easy to get photos of birds. The goldfinches always remind me of flying jewels. Art
