Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A fun day

Picture of the Day

44 degrees this morning and a little bit of fog hanging around but the sun soon chased it away and it was sunny.

Picture is of the little town pond.

Instead of a random walk around town I mapped out a Town Route.

Walking past the day care in town a car was stopped letting out a couple of kids.  On a closer look I saw that it was my dentist and she opened the window and we talked a bit.  Without her white doctor coat on and her long hair down she seemed way too young to be my dentist. : )

When I got back home it seemed much warmer out and was so surprised to see it was still only 46 degrees.

I walked 6.2 miles.

Yesterday I took a couple of pictures of the stone patio progress.
It was Super Senior Day and this month we met at Debbie and Ron's house for a picnic.  Always a fun time of fellowship, laughter, lots of talking and laughing and good food.  We had hot dogs, hamburgers, and all kinds of side dishes that people made.  I brought some chocolate chippers and I've come home with a couple more recipes.

Pastor said a few words about what heaven will be like.

There is a mile loop walking path that runs right behind Debbie's house so of course I had to go and check it out. Donna and Betty came along with me and we had a nice little walk.
No supper for us tonight.  We are still full from all the food we ate during the day.
It was a delightful day.  It stayed sunny all day with temperature in the high 60's.

Hope your day was a happy one too.

Great quote today and so true.
Your stone patio is coming along so nicely. Your entire backyard looks so well tended. Love the clothes drying on the line.
Your day does sound like a lot of fun and that walking trail looks interesting. Glad you checked it out and shared a glimpse with us.

Great quote! Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all just be kind to our fellow humans and fellow creatures? I am glad you enjoyed your day. Art

An outstanding quote you have for us today!

That was quite a special day you had! Those kinds of events are certainly good opportunities for Christian fellowship!

That's a cute picture of the soybeans. Are there really only three beans in each pod?

Your day out sounds like it was fun. Isn't it nice to be able to do some of these things now without having to rush to fit everything in before the kids get home.
The patio is going great guns, looking good.

You have a cheery site! That word of wisdom attributed to Ms. Lorimer - I was going to let you know that someone else said it first, but when I was checking my sources I came upon this interesting article that set me right: http://quoteinvestigator.com/2010/06/29/be-kind/
Well, someone else did say the same thing long before Brooke, just not Philo of Alexandria as I thought. And maybe it has become part of our received of folk wisdom and she didn't realize she was drawing from somewhere other than her own self.
I love good quotes and my finding one here has led me on a corrective trail. Thanks!
