Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Bright and clear

Picture of the Day
Marigolds in my yard
❤     ❤     ❤     ❤
This morning dawned clear and bright with a temperature of 54 degrees.  I put a couple dozen chocolate chip cookies in a ziplock baggie and then in a plastic shopping bag and headed out around the Farm Loop.  The cookies were for Farmer Bill to say thanks for the beans and zucchini.  I was just going to hang them on his door knob but he was outside so I handed them to him.  He gave me a big smile and said thanks!!

Walking down the road between fields of corn I stopped a moment to listen to the breeze blowing the corn around.  It was just that sound and a few birds chirping in the distance.  Oh, Life is Good.
I took the road through Farmer Marvin's Farm and saw this shed almost hidden in the trees.
Back in town I walked around the cemeteries and the ball park loop.  Spotted this poor dead snake in the road.
Today was the first day back to school for the kids here and I saw a few kids standing at bus stops but oddly I didn't see any buses.  I must have been a tad too early.
It was a beautiful morning for walking.
I walked 6.2 miles.

Ken went up to Happy Trails and I wanted to go with him but had too much to do at home.  Got the laundry done and what a beautiful day to hang it all out on the clothes line.  Lawn mowing day too and boy I sure do get the lawn done fast.  My rider does a great job and really moves .  My neighbor started mowing before me and has less yard to mow and I was done way before he was.

This is a picture in the front of my house.  Where the flowers are planted on both sides of the sidewalk are where I took all those shrubs out.  There were at least a dozen of them.  I like it so much better with just the flowers.
I had mentioned a while ago that I was writing notes to prisoners around the country  for my church.  Well, now I'm getting answers to some of them, thanking me for the words of encouragement.  Nice to know they read them and are encouraged.  I've written back to all who write back to me. (All the letters go to the church and I don't sign my name.)

I really need to wash my car but I'm going to put that off for another day.  What sounds good to me, is to sit on the porch and read until Ken gets home.  Then I'll help him unload the trailer.

Hope your Monday is sunny and bright.

Three Thankful Things Today
  1. Bright clear early mornings
  2. Pretty flowers in my yard
  3. The sound of corn blowing in the wind
Mr Harvey from my church that I asked you to pray for is doing very well now.  He came to church yesterday and no longer needs a wheel chair.  He came walking in with just a cane. : )  He's not back home yet but probably will be soon.
Thank you all for your prayers and thank you GOD.

Now I have another prayer request.  Betty who sits next to me in church went for checkup and to everyone's surprise needs to have open heart surgery tomorrow.  She has no outward symptoms and feels perfectly fine. Please pray that all goes well tomorrow.  Thanks so much.

What a pleasant day. The variegated marigold is really pretty. The cookies sounded yummy. Sad about the snake.

I love marigolds, especially their fragrance! Yours look like they are doing quite well - as well as the rest of your pretty garden out front of the house. I can understand why you tore out the shrubs - your porch has a beautiful stone foundation. Too lovely to hide!

Glad to hear Mr. Harvey is doing so well. Will remember your friend, Betty, in my prayers tonight.

Beautiful flowers, and I think the flowers are a nice change from bushes.

Glad to hear your church friend is doing better. Will pray for your other church friend that needs extra prayers now.

How thoughtful of you to make cookies for your farmer friend. Surely it brightened his day.

Yes!!! Life is wonderful!!!!

Ok, #1! New cute pic of you on your profile and cute hair! That was really fun to see. Thanks for that. Glad you can be encouraging to prisoners. I feel so sorry for prisoners. When I was young I was not tolerant of them and felt they were awful people that deserved their judgement. But now that I'm older, I am so sorry for them, some are there without hardly doing hardly anything wrong. There was a young man in my old neighborhood, who was sent to prison for forging checks, and some guys ganged up on him and killed him in prison. Awful, huh? OhmyGosh! Glad you can be charitable to those people (and remain anonymous as well.) ♥ {12 more days to no chemo symptoms!}

Somehow I missed this on Monday! That was such a neat gesture that you gave Farmer Bill cookies! Great that you are receiving replies from your letters to prisoners. You were a "busy bee" on Monday, and I'd say deserved some time just to sit and read!

Wow. What a shock for Betty. I will certainly pray for her. I know that you'll let us know.
