This morning was a mixture of sun and clouds and the temperature was 55 degrees when I went for my walk. Lots of farms have rolls of hay about and at Farmer Georg's farm he's in the process of rolling more.
I walked the Farm Loop and then around town.
There were a half dozen Killdeers along one part of the road and they must have been young ones because one of them (maybe mom) flew at me a few times to hurry me down the road.
I saw one other woman walking around the cemetery. A man was walking with a backpack through town and mentioned what a beautiful morning it was and he wished every morning was like this. He was walking to Deep Creek.
I walked 6.3 miles.

It was hair day - a dye and a trim. Sherry took about an inch off my hair. Looks better with a trim.
While I was sitting in the chair getting my hair cut a young woman walked in to wait her turn and we all start talking. Sherry happens to ask her how far she got along the Appalachian Trail and then it all clicks for me. I ask her if her name is Danae and her husband Daniel and she says it is. I tell her I'm happyone and she laughs and is amazed that it's me.
Now let me tell you the story.
A while back my blogger friend, Karen from Karen's Ramblings told me of a blog that I might be interested in reading called Appalachian Journey which is about Daniel and Danae walking the trail. I looked it up, was very interested and starting reading it. Daniel and Danae didn't walk the whole trail but they did walk over 1,000 miles of it and I enjoyed walking along with them.
So it was really cool to run into her like that at the hair dressers. It turns out that we are literally neighbors!! You know my neighbor Harold who I told you was nice and mows the lawn under the pine trees between our yards so I don't have to, well he is Daniel's grandfather. Daniel and Danae live in the trailer that is across the driveway from Harold. Small world!!!
As I left the hair dresser, Danae said, "I can't wait to tell Daniel that I met happyone."
I went to the bank and when I walked up to the teller she seemed very familiar to me and she said Hi like she knew me. I did know her. She just changed jobs - I knew her from her old job - her old job? Working at Cherry Hill.

Last night after supper I was out doing some weeding about 6:30 when it dawned on me that it was Wednesday and I was supposed to be at my book club meeting. Oh well, I didn't like the book anyway and never finished reading it.
Ken and I had lunch out on the front porch. We've been doing that a lot lately - eating outside. Summer is so pleasant here. : )
Find the happiness in your day and enjoy it.
happyone : )

You have a happy post today Karen and it has brightened my day! What fun meeting a blogging friend. I love doing that. Unfortunately I have only met 2 so far.
Small world! I'll check out that blog too. And I love the pink kayak!
How wonderful that you met Danae! It is indeed a small world, isn't it?!
That is an incredible story! How very cool. Perhaps you and Ken will walk the Appalachian Trail one day. It goes just north of us...hahahahaha
Okay off to follow your link.
Wow, quite spectacular.
small world! how very cool. i love your golden field scene! thanks for linking!
Hi - I tried to leave a comment, but for some reason it didn't save, so I will try again. I love the pictures and think it is really great that you got to meet Danae! Small world - but then I really think God has his purposes and there really are very few coincidences. It has been a busy week here so I haven't been in blog land much and am trying to get caught up with every one now. Have a great day!
I love the smile quote, very cute! Sounds like a nice walk today. It is cool you met Danae, always great to meet blogging friends. Enjoy your evening!
WOW - that is so cool!
Love the yellow field inthe first shot. wonderful that you meet another blogger.
Never ceases to amaze me, at how small our world can be.
Kindness counts, because we never know when we will run into a 'friend' ***smile**.
Beautiful pictures.
K.
love the individual post...I have a similar.....
You might enjoy "Hiking Through" by Paul Stotzman. He is a though hiker. He started a year after his wife died. I enjoy viewing the AP's beauty through his eyes, the difficulty of it and all the details of the AP. It is also a spiritual journey.
Meeting Denae was amazing. Also, running into the familiar worker from Cherry Hill, now at the bank. Small town, small world with blogs and facebook. MJ
That is so cool that you meant Danae in person. I kind of was hoping they would keep on walking, but after 1,000 miles, who am I to say? I am planning a 100 mile hike and that seems long enough! Art
I'm trying again as I left a long comment yesterday and when I hit publish it disappeared. It seems to be happening intermittently lately.
I'm keeping this short in case it happens again. It really is a small world and so cool that you met Danae.
It's always neat to meet a blogging friend in person. It's especially neat that you two live so close to one another. Small world, isn't it? I really like your first picture.
