Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Ken, the bus driver : )

Looking through the trees
✻     ✻     ✻     ✻
50 degrees this morning with a mix of sun and clouds.  It was a random walk for me today all over town and down the main road towards HT.  Pastor Grant picked Ken up in the church bus while I was walking and passed by me.  I turned around and snapped this picture.  There they go.
I didn't see anyone else out walking.
Up by one of the cemeteries I saw a blue bird.  Don't see many of them and when I do it always makes me smile.
Remember Lone Chicken and friends?  I passed where she used to live and the coop is all over grown now.   I wonder how she is doing in her new home.
It was a nice cool walk and I walked 7 miles.

Ken drove the bus home.  He is now a licensed bus driver!!  : )  Thanks for your prayers and good wishes everyone, and Thank You God!!

I made two dozen chocolate cupcakes with chocolate icing this morning.  Late tomorrow afternoon we are going to a couples house from church who have invited people over to play shuffleboard and I'm bringing cupcakes.  I'm bringing one dozen and keeping the other dozen and I'll have one for my snack tonight.  Something to look forward too.
I've never played shuffleboard before but it sounds like fun.

This afternoon I spent outside doing some more weeding.  This time in the front by the daisies.
My herb garden is doing okay, but not great.  The basil is coming along good and so is the sage and parsley but the dill is very thin looking.  There are a bunch of tomatoes on Ken's plants but they are small and are all green yet.  Pumpkin plants are getting big but no pumpkins yet.  Our two pepper plants are doing good and we are looking forward to frying them up with some hot Italian sausage.  I know, not very healthy but sure good. : )

Ken was out in the back taking more of the deck apart.

Well, it's time for supper and then we are off to preview items for an auction that is being held tomorrow.

Hope your Friday has found you smiling often.

Congratulations to Ken!!! So happy for him!!
For some reason, I thought he was retired.

Cupcakes are a great choice to take to your shuffleboard party.

I suppose that your garden has slowed a bit, with the cooler temperatures you've been having.
Once it heats up again, it'll take right off :)

Have a fun weekend, and once again... happy congrats to Ken.

I knew he'd do it! Congrats! At least he knows that no one will be singing 99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall. That always comes to mind when I think of schoolbus drivers.

Sounds as if you have another fun weekend going. John's off to a men's breakfast in the morning, but that's our big doings.

Yay for Ken's license! Wonder if Lone Chicken wound up in someone's soup pot.:-( Yummy cupcakes! They are a good choice to take along. I haven't played shuffleboard in years, but have enjoyed it in the past.

Congratulations to Ken! You both seem to be such capable people that I secretly had no doubts that he would meet this goal. How fun to see him driving the bus.
I have fond memories of my boys playing shuffleboard with their grandpa when they were little boys. I think you will enjoy it.
I am finishing my dinner as I read this. would you mind passing me a chocolate cupcake now? :).

Hi Karen - so glad Ken got his bus license! Will enjoy hearing all about your shuffle board party. Charly just barely taught me to play shuffle board this summer when we were in Hawaii! It is really fun. Hope your weekend is going well. Love your quote for the day on this post!
