Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A day of kayaking

Dead Trees in the sun
✻     ✻     ✻     ✻
It was 48 degrees this morning with some low hanging clouds around at first.  It warmed up pretty quickly though, the clouds drifted off and then I had a sunny walk.

Walked the Farm Loop and then up Spear Road a bit.  Also walked up by the small industrial park.  Got all my miles in before I got back to town.  I'll probably have a walk around town after supper.

A quiet walk and I didn't see any one else out walking.
I walked 6.2 miles.

Right after breakfast we loaded up the kayaks in the back of the truck and took off for a kayaking adventure.  There is a state park with a pretty large lake near our church that we pass every week and we decided to check it out.

It was really nice and we had a great time paddling around taking in the sights.  I took lots of pictures and had a hard time narrowing them down to these to post.
The 'picture of the day' I took at the lake too.  Down the narrow part.

We crossed the lake and then just went around the whole thing.
 A beaver house.
Bird house with for a big bird.
At one end of the lake was a little beach for swimming and up at the other end here at narrow part it twisted around and around and it was fun following it.
This is a far as we could go and then we turned around and went back.
The weather was perfect, sunny and in the 60's.  We sure did enjoy the day.

Hope your Friday has been a good one too and that you smiled often and maybe even had a good out loud laugh.

That looks like you had a great day. Friday was beautiful here as well, and I so wished to be out and exploring. The bird box is a wood duck nest box. Mainly wood ducks nest in them, but sometimes kestrels, screech owls, mergansers, and tree swallows as well do. In a prior life, I had a job where now and then I got to spend the day canoeing and checking out the nest boxes, counting the eggs. Saw all kinds of wildlife, and got paid for it! Art

You live is such a gorgeous area! These photos are amazing. ... and all while kayaking in your pink kayak! Nice to be over here to see you. I have a bit better energy but wow chemo depression and chemo weakness are REAL. But I am counting at day 27 today because I spoke to my nurse and she said the last chemo is hardly felt by most patients. So I am upping the time I will feel normal to one less week. So 27 days it is!!!!!

48 degrees...brrr. and only in the 60's (I think I'd be freezing) as it's in the upper 90's here again.
Looks like you had a beautiful day out kayaking though and saw some lovely scenery while you were at it.
