Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Work and fun

It was 48 degrees this morning, cloudy and windy when I started walking.  I walked out the door and I felt a few drops so took along my umbrella.  By the time I got down to the end of the driveway, no rain so I left my umbrella leaning on the garage and started walking.

I walked straight through town and down the main road for about a mile.  Felt those rain drops again so headed back home for the umbrella.  Just getting back to town here.
Got the umbrella, walked a half a block and the rain stopped never to start again until later after I was home.  I just stayed around town having a random walk.

Passed by the town pond and saw them stocking the pond with some more fish.  They just pour them into the pond from the truck down the pipe.  Didn't capture any of the fish with the camera but I did see the fish coming out.
Leaving the pond I went to the cemetery.  I love how the phlox is growing here.  My mom calls it mountain pink and I like to call it that too.  It's a pretty name. : )
I saw Lisa running through town.  We were on opposite sides of the street so just said hi and waved and we passed by each other.

I walked 6.1 miles.
Found another penny - Keith, I noticed this time - it was tales up.

After I was home, the sky turned black and it seemed more like night than morning.  We saw lightning, heard thunder and then came the rain.  It rained on and off till lunch time and then it was just cloudy and in the afternoon I even saw some sun.

I made some brownies to take to Cherry Hill tomorrow.
Then that housework I've been putting off all week got mostly done today.  Just a little bit left to do and I'll do that tomorrow.

I spent some time in my office, making it my knitting room too.  I had all my yarn down stairs in the basement and moved it up here and put it all in baskets.  Makes for a colorful room. : )  I still have to clear off my desk and get things organized again.  I have to move some stuff out of this room that is just sitting around serving no purpose and just making things look cluttered.  I'm going to start on that right now.

Hope your day finds you happy and smiling often.

Three Thankful Things
  1. The birds that stop at the bird feeder in my back yard
  2. An email from a friend saying she was sending me a book
  3.  Library called - 2 books are waiting there for me to pick up

The church in the photo is so beautiful! When i find a penny I always think that someone in heaven is sending me a message and it brightens my day.

Oh phew! Because schoolbus drivers don't get paid enough to put up with what they put up with.

Your day sounds like a capricious sort of spring day. Your location to the downtown area makes walking pretty handy, though.

Wish I had some of your killdeer from yesterday to watch...I've got a flock of turkey vultures looking at me.

What a pretty church! I have an idea for a good field trip for you.:) When you take care of that clutter you mentioned, I've some that needs some TLC.:)

It was 90 degrees here today with blue skies and a few puffy clouds.
It felt good to be alive.

That is a darling church. Is that the one that you attend?
I'm curious to know if people go fishing for those fish?
We could use some of your rain. I'm already watering every day. I think I could use some of your brownies too :D.
