Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Friday

A mixture of sun and clouds this morning and it was 44 degrees.  Not much of a breeze but it did kick up a bit later on my walk.  I walked the Farm Loop.  This is the last leg of the loop and I'm headed back to the main road and back into town.
Saw a couple of geese by one of the farm ponds and I'm thinking that maybe the one from yesterday found his mate and they made their way back to the pond.
A ground hog was out on the side of the road and ran into his borrow when I passed by.  Heard a woodpecker, but didn't see it and smelled a skunk and thankfully I didn't see him either.

I walked through town and around one of the cemeteries, turned left to the dead end and then walked up this road in a field.  Turned right just before the grass part up ahead
and walked along here which leads to the other cemetery which is on the left up ahead.
I don't usually walk in the fields between the two cemeteries but walk around the first cemetery, then back down the street, over a street and then up the hill to the second cemetery.

Continued down into town and on home.
I walked 6.3 miles.

Ken is having some visitors over the house tomorrow to have a look at his train layout and he's been cleaning and tidying things up getting ready.  I vacuumed down stairs for him and it was very satisfying hearing all the bits up stuff fly up the hose of the vacuum.  : )

Went outside around the yard for a bit, getting in the mail, dragging the garbage can back inside and filling the bird feeders and walking around checking things out.  I noticed the forsythia aren't turning yellow this year but going right to green leaves.  I love the yellow flowers and always wish the yellow would stay around longer, now this year I won't see yellow at all.  I've never known that to happen before.  BUT the red tulips have started to bloom and they are looking beautiful.

I've finished reading book 5 in the Cedar Cove series by Debbie Macomber, 50 Harbor Street.  It continued right where the 4th one left off.  I already have booked number 6 checked out of the library and it's sitting on my end table ready for me to start it.

I've been using an old camera held together with duct tape while my new one was sent back to have it fixed under warranty and today it came in the mail.  It's all fixed, looking nice and new and working properly.

For supper tonight we are running up to The Ridge for a burger.  They have super hamburgers there and I'm just in the mood for one.

Hope your day is sunny and bright.

I was just going to agree with Beth! The scenery where you are walking is really pretty! Lucky you! Pizza and burgers in the same day! Enjoy! Great that you have your camera returned in good repair!

It is looking like Spring on your walks now, although that is a mystery about your forsythia.
Glad to know I'm not alone in enjoying the sound of dirt being sucked up by the vacuum.
Enjoy your burger and your weekend too.

That is strange about the forsythia. I don't think that ours are doing much, but I'll have to check first thing in the morning. I am curious.

It always surprises me the many different routes you can take. Lots of variety!

Hope Ken has a good time hosting his guests.

I love your quote for the day. I would sure like to see Ken's train layout in person. I have always found train layouts like that fascinating! A good hamburger is a real treat - hope you and Ken enjoyed yours.
