Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Walking in the afternoon

I woke up a little later than usual this morning and it was still only 10 degrees and there were a few snow flurries around.  It looked more like floating glitter than snow, and was really pretty.  It was a bit cold to walk especially with the wind so I didn't walk this morning.

After  breakfast I just couldn't seem to get motivated to get on with my work so I sat there and read for a while.  Finally I told myself to just get up and get started on cleaning that bathroom.  I listened to myself and once I got started I felt so much better.  : )  Got a good start on cleaning the house for this week and then it was lunch time.

After lunch the sun was shining and the temperature was up to 20 degrees so I went for my walk then.

Had a nice walk around the farm loop.  It was a very quiet afternoon but nice to be walking in the sunshine and a different time of the day for a change.  Though I do prefer early morning.
There were robins all over the place again.  I couldn't even guess how many I saw.  They were scattered all along my walk.

I didn't walk as far as usual and only went 5 miles.
I found a dime and one penny and both looked like they had been around quite a while buried under snow all winter.

Hope you are having a wonderful Monday and the sun is shining where you are too.

It was one of those March days
when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold:
when is it summer in the light,
and winter in the shade.

Today's Three Happy Things
  1. Getting some housework done - not so happy while doing it but glad it was over for the day
  2. A sunny afternoon walk
  3. Thinking about homemade pizza for supper

Vee - I've never been to a mother/daughter banquet with either my mother or my daughter though it sure would be nice, but I still enjoy going on my own.

I am so glad you were able to walk this afternoon. It was very cold here this morning too. I am still waiting for some sunny 70 degree days.

I feel bad for complaining about how "cold" it was here this morning...46 degrees! I think tomorrow I will be happy to be in Texas where it's considerably warmer than the most of the country, even if it is cold for us for this time of year.

= D I don't doubt it for a minute. Changing things up every now and then is a good thing. Loved your description of the snow...

I'm with you - it is hard to get started on the cleaning, but feels great when it is finished! Enjoy the rest of your evening!

Been too long since I've visited your blog. I just saw the photo of your Vette.
That's a beautiful beast.

Good for you for listening to yourself :). I always feel better when I do that too.
The snow did sound pretty. Things are looking more like spring in your photos.

I am the same way with cleaning. I hate to start but once I do, it is not so bad. Art
