Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A Happy Monday

Woke up later than usual this morning and didn't get outside to walk until 7:30 and by that time it was getting light out.  It was VERY windy but 34 degrees so it wasn't cold.  It wasn't long before the sun was shining too.  I stayed walking around town because it was later and I didn't want to be walking on the road back to town with all the school buses coming down the hill.

I made a stop at the laundromat in town and hung up a flier on the bulletin board there from church advertising the revival week in April.  Then I went to the library and dropped a book off in the drop.  Next stop the post office to mail a Netflix.

More and more snow is melting and I got to walk almost all the way around the two cemeteries.  By tomorrow I will probably make it all the way around.

I saw lots more robins today and some blue jays too and a rabbit hopped by.

The bakery in town closed a few months ago and the building has sat empty.  This morning I noticed three work trucks parked there and lights were on in the building.  Looks like there may be a new business getting ready to open.  I wonder what it will be.

It sure was a nice morning walk.
I walked 6 miles.

We have started another puzzle.  This one is a map of Maryland with historical place pictures around the edges.  It has 1000 pieces.

Finished reading The Girl You Left Behind by YoYo Moyes for the book club that meets tomorrow.  It was very good and I enjoyed reading it.  It is a good book for discussion!!

After lunch I went to the library to pick up April's book for the book club which was on hold for me.  This one is Life After Life by Kate Atkinson.  The book came all the way from Fredrick County which I think, is 4 counties away.

There was snow still piled up on the edge of our driveway and the part along the side of the garage and this afternoon I shoveled all the snow off of it.  Now our whole driveway is snow free.

Looking forward to going out to eat at Uno's for supper tonight.  Their menu is big so there is a lot to chose from.  I might get the mac and cheese which is super good there.

Hope your are enjoying your day.
Be Happy.

Today's Three Happy Things
  1. Being outside walking this morning
  2. A new library book to read
  3. Melting snow

Nellie - A little salt is used but mostly as the snowplows go along they spread fine gravel out the back.  I think it can get too cold for salt to work.

I would love doing a historical map like the puzzle you describe. I haven't seen any puzzles like that for Arizona. I am going to look for the book you just read. I think we like similar kinds of books, so if you like it, I probably would too! Thanks and enjoy the rest of the day.

Well I hope that revival week fires revival and that it spreads!

7.30 still sounds early to me! No robins here yet, though March 10th is the date I always watch for them.

Great for the snow to be melting! Do you have any more in the forecast for this week? As warm as it has been, it shouldn't amount to very much.

It sounds like you had a great day - as you usually do! There is just something about getting new library books to read; I love looking at a stack of books just waiting for me to dig into!
