Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Painting Day

I woke up to a winter wonderland of snow.  It was also only 5 degrees and very windy so it was a walking in the basement day.  We had a high of 10 today.
Four miles in the morning listening to Cheap Tricks and another two miles after supper listening to Pink Floyd.

I decided to finally finish painting the room off the kitchen today.  Ken had painted the kitchen blue and I continued with the same color.
Ken took a picture of me painting.  I'm painting over a tan/brown color which is okay but I think the blue makes the room brighter and cheery.
Ken ended up helping me so we got the whole room done with two coats and put everything back in its place.  I'm really pleased with how it looks.
With that done Ken hung up the homasote that I painted blue and I put my cookie cutter collection up.
Before picture.
After picture.
Taking breaks once in a while I worked on the jigsaw puzzle but haven't finished it yet.

Didn't have much time for anything else.
Looking forward to a nice shower and then sitting in the chair and watching a little television.

Hope your Friday was a happy one.

Winter came down to our home one night
Quietly pirouetting in on silvery-toed slippers of snow,
And we, were children once again.

Deb - I don't mind you copying me at all. I think it is nice that you want to. : )

Art - No, I've never tried cross country skiing, though I'd like to.  I didn't know it was called Nordic skiing!

Hi Betty - Hope you had a happy Christmas and I wish you a Happy New Year.  Thanks for your kind words. : )

The room looks beautiful. I love that shade of blue! You really have an impressive cookie cutter collection. It looks great now and you can tell at a glance which cutter you want to use.

Karen - we are going to be painting soon too...great minds think alike. We are going to paint our hall. It has been a long time coming. I love what you have done with your cookie cutter collection! How creative and cute. Blue is my favorite color so I do love the color scheme of your home! Have a great weekend and stay warm.

Your room looks wonderfully Americana and cozy to the max! The new board is oerfect for your cookie cutter display! Is that where you mix up your baking? Are you baking banana bread next? Breaking up the walking seems like the way to go!

Love the color you painted your room. Makes everything look so nice. Also a great idea for your cookie cutter collection. You can see them all and no holes in the wall.

We are planning to paint too but we will hire someone to do it. We are not very handy in the regard I fear and the negative impact on our marriage makes paying for this service very important.

You and Ken sure do know how to get things done. You're an inspiration to me.
The new paint color looks great with your furniture.
What a great idea for your cookie cutters. You have a really nice collection. I have a large collection of the red plastic type. They are in a jar in my cupboard. I need to find a better place for them so they can be enjoyed on a daily basis.
I still remember the way you had them displayed in one of your previous homes.

Your room is lovely.
Try that skiing out - I think you might enjoy it. Try renting somewhere first - Savage River Lodge would be a good place because they that the trail system and it is close to you. Art
