Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Friday

It was a rainy walk for me this morning.  44 degrees, some wind with the temperature  on the way down and when I got home it was 35.  I wore Ken's rain pants again and had my umbrella too.
We are supposed to get some snow over night and here are the towns three big snow plows ready to go.
I had a random walk around town.  Didn't see any people out but I did saw a couple of rabbits.

Remember when I saw the start of what I thought was going to be a garage in a yard I walked by?  Well, it is a 2 car garage and it's already been framed out.  Workers were getting there today as I walked by.  I guess a little rain isn't going to stand in their way.  I was glad I was on my way home to a warm and dry house.

When I first started walking I thought I'd cut my walk short because I was getting wet feet early on but my walk seemed to go fast and before I knew it I had walked 4 miles.  Then I thought only 2 more to go I might as well keep going.

I walked 6.1 miles - 11,902 steps.

We left mid morning to go to Walmart to do a little shopping.  We did food shopping and also picked up a few more Christmas decorations.

After lunch I worked on my counted cross stitch and before I knew it the afternoon was gone and I didn't get all that much done on it.

I'll get a little reading done this evening on my book club book.

Hope your day has been sunny and bright.

And when we give each other Christmas gifts in His name,
let us remember that He has given us the sun and the moon
and the stars, and the earth with its forests and
mountains and oceans.......
He came down to earth and gave us Himself.

Well, no sun here today! It has been all about rain - lots of it.:-)

Yes, it is really a good feeling to have a warm, dry home when we return from being out in this chilly rain!

I really like the Undset quote.

I'll be interested to see if your snow comes. Do you see the plows on your walk?
I haven't touched my cross stitch in a long time. Between babysitting and trying to decorate for Christmas, it just isn't happening. Oh well :(

Well I don't want to boast, but those look like like pretty small snow plows to me! Hope you do get some snow for them.

Our gifts don't quite compare with His do they? We're off to shop bright and early in the morning. Hope we get a string of lights!

We were doing a little shopping at Walmart tonight too...needed some more Christmas lights and something with which to hang all of the Christmas cards we are starting to get. We put them all on the back our front door every year. In a week or so, the door will probably be full! I love your Thought for the day. Hope you have a great weekend. Stay warm and cozy!
