Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Walking stick

When we were walking around at the Autumn Glory festival in Oakland the other week people were handing out these beaded walking sticks.  It is used as a way to tell people about Jesus.  The beads all have a meaning.

Yellow or gold represents Heaven.
Somewhere we all want to go.
 Revelation 21:18
And the building of the wall of it was jasper: and the city was pure gold, unto clear glass.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Black represents Sin.
Our problem - all are sinners.
Romans 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Red represents the Blood of Christ.
God's Remedy for Sin.
 Romans 5:8
But God commendeth His love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
White - All may be saved.
Our response to what Jesus did for us on the cross.
Romans 10:13
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Green represents growth.
The Lord wants us to experience His peace and joy.
II Peter 3:18
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I thought it was a nice way of telling others about Jesus. : )
A blessed Sunday to you all.
How wonderful, I had not heard of this. And if you carry it around town you may get a chance to share your faith.
I think so, too. And I think that the walking stick would come in handy.
Hi Happy One! I am coming over from Elizabethd's blog.
I love this walking stick idea! All those beads to remind us of our good walk with The Lord. I have never seen anything like it...people are so creative, aren't they?
So glad to meet you today. It's always good to meet happy people! And I love the quote from Groucho Marx on your header. So true :)
Peace,
Ceil
Joyce Meyer used the Groucho Marx quote on her show last week.
I knew about the colors to explain about Jesus and have seen it in booklets, bracelets, and even a purse, but never a walking stick. Love it!
