Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.

Out with the old, in with the new.

 Thanks everyone one for your welcome back comments.  : )
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was warm again this morning at 55 degrees, there was some fog around but no mist.  When it got light I could see some blue sky in places and later on in the day we actually saw some sun. : )
I stayed around town this morning and walked up the hills behind my house, around the cemeteries, the ball park loop and on some town streets.
The horse was out in the field by the Drane House.
When I snapped his picture he spotted me and started walking my way.
I zoomed in a bit here.
 I stood by the fence and he kept coming closer
and then he put his head over the gate.
 I put out my hand flat which he sniffed and then
I petted him a few times.  I think he likes me. : )
When I was walking around one of the cemeteries my phone rang.  It was my friend Mary Jo and we had a nice chat while I walked.
A most enjoyable walk this morning.
I walked 6.2 miles - 12,164 steps.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We ate breakfast and then went to Lowe's to buy a new kitchen faucet to go with the new kitchen counters and sink we are getting this week.  We also got some blue paint and will be painting the kitchen (very little to paint as you can see) and also the family room which is open to the kitchen.
Right after lunch the counter men came to get started on the counters.  Here's the kitchen with the old counters.
Old counter tops gone!!! : )
Here the Corain is down to make sure it fits and to make any adjustments.
Once they made sure it fit they took it off again and it will go back to the shop and get the back splash put on and the sink hole cut out and the sink put in.  They will be back Friday to install it.
The dish washer is gone now and we will have a cabinet there instead.
I am so excited to be getting these new counter tops.  Very happy to be getting rid of the double stainless steel sinks too.  I just don't like them.  I love how the Corian sinks are molded right in to the counter top.  So smooth and easy for cleaning.

So, we will be without a sink for the next few days which sounds like eating supper out days to me.  : )

Hope your day has been sunny and bright.
happyone : )

  2. It is pretty up that way. Having spent Friday through Monday in your neck of the woods, I don't believe it ever is sunny there and I want proof! ;^)

    Your counters will look really nice. It is nice to buy a place and make little changes that say "Karen and Ken."

    What a nice horse! Art

  4. It's going to be so nice. The color is nice and neutral and I know that it'll be a joy to work in. Yes, take advantage of no sink and no counters, though by Friday, you'll be more than ready.

    Most definitely sounds like meals will need to be eaten out.
