Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A Corn Maze

Once again the temperature was 60 degrees this morning.  The sun came out but there were still some low hanging clouds around.
Here is Farmer George's farm in one of the clouds.
When I walked past the farm where my beef cow friend #29 lives, she came down to the fence to say hi.  She brought along #49 too.  29 reached her head over to me and sniffed.  When I put my hand out to her, a big black tongue came out and she licked my hand.  : )  How cool is that!!!
Pretty quiet around town, didn't see anyone else out walking or running.
I only walked 5 miles this morning - 10,041 steps.

Left right after breakfast to go to an auction in Oakland.  A house and all it contents were being auctioned off.  The house was the first thing to be auctioned.  It is a big old stone house with 5 bedrooms on almost an acre of land.  House and grounds need some TLC but it was a really neat old house.  I can't believe I forgot to take a picture of it!!  The house went for $180,000.00.  We didn't stay long because there was nothing there that we really wanted.

Home for lunch and then we left again and went to visit a near by farm that has a corn maze.
 That's me the cow. : )
We walked around the maze for a while and ended up walking about 2 miles in it.
There were signs like this with clues on it to help us find our way through the maze.
Every year they make a new maze and give the proceeds they make from it to a different charity.
After we made it out of the maze we stopped by the barn to visit some of the calves.  For the second time today a cow licked my hand.  : )

So that's been my day so far.
Hope you're enjoying your day too.

Glad you found your way out of the maze. Two miles in a maze sounds scary. Have never been licked by a cow. I love that you were happy about it. I'm thinking that I'd be less happy.=D

Well, I can say that, although I have been around cows many times during my life, not a single one has tried to lick my hand!:-)

It sounds like you have had the perfect October Saturday! Have a good night.

I guess the cow knew you liked her! I'm glad you had a good time at the auction and exploring the maze.
