Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Pallets of pellets

 A tongue twister title. : )

A nice cool clear morning with a temperature of 43 degrees.  The only mist around was over all the little ponds like this one.  Behind this pond is another one.  I could tell by the mist back there.
Looked around at a few tombstones at the cemetery along a side street in town and took a picture of this one from 1870.  Sarah was just 2 years old when she died.
I saw another woman walking in town but she was too far away to stop and talk.

A deer shot out of one corn field into the road, slipped on the road and almost fell, regained her balance and then into the other corn field on the other side of the road.  It all happened in a matter of seconds and about 30 feet in front of me.

Love this this nice cool weather.  Just perfect for a morning walk.
I walked 6.1 miles - 12,090 steps.

Stopped in at the local hardware store and bought 2 pallets (2 tons) of pellets for our pellet stove.  Never had a pellet stove before but the people who lived here before us loved it and said it heated the whole house. Two tons of the stuff is what they used during a winter.  The pellets look like rabbit food to me.  We are waiting for a call to tell us when it will be delivered.

I cleaned the bathrooms this afternoon and then I did some reading on the front porch.  I thought I'd better read the book for the book club next week!!

I'm making manicotti for supper tonight and will do the same thing when I made the eggplant.  Make them in separate dishes and freeze what we don't eat.  It sure comes in handy those days I don't feel like cooking.

Hard to believe it is Friday already!
Next weekend we will be having our second guest - Cheryl. : )  We just confirmed it today.

Hope your day is sunny and bright.  It sure is a beautiful day here in western MD.

Pellet Stoves...now there's a topic. Where is yours located? I hope in the basement. Why? Because my kids just put two stoves in on their main floors and the first floor is always so cold. Brrrrrisssskkk. I suppose it would make a difference on how well insulated the house is and I imagine that yours is nicely insulated being newer. It should help with the heating bill, though! It is very nice and cozy and very clean, too.

You really are going to have to keep your eyes peeled for darting deer. Good heavens!

Glad that you read nicely together. Sometimes it is hard to read nicely together. One or the other wants to share and that can be nice...sometimes...rarely. =D

It is getting cool up your way. That stove sounds neat. We heated with a wood stove when we lived in Maine, and it was a lot of work.

I don't know that I've ever heard of a pellet stove. Here, most of us opt for central heat and air fueled with either electricity or natural gas.

Manicotti sounds delicious!

That is wonderful news about Cheryl coming next week-end!

I want some of your cooler weather. It's going to be almost 90 here in KY today.

My father and I came across a rural cemetary once with overgrown weeds and grass all around...like it had been forgotten. Some of the tombstones had dates in the mid to late 1800s. It made me wonder about their story.

You sure were busy but a nice walk, like the photos. I like old tombstones but only 2. Hardware stores are interesting
