Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

First Time using the Line

A bit on the chilly side this morning with a temperature of 48 degrees, a mixture of sun and clouds and a perfect morning for walking.  This is my favorite walking weather!

I walked the farm loop again and will probably walk this way most every morning.  I like that is takes me by farms and town.  I may not have the lake to walk around but all the beautiful scenery and quiet more than make up for it.

One of the farms I pass I've noticed they also have two horses but they have always been far away and I couldn't get a good look at them.  Today one of them was by a tree getting a good back scratch.  When I talked to him, he came over to the fence and I took this picture of him so I have a new horse friend on this route.  When he gets to know me a bit I'll walk up to the fence and let him smell my hand then give him a pet.
There were some workers getting ready to do some work on the road but they hadn't started yet when I walked past.  There was a bulldozer and two big dump trucks with about 6 men all standing around talking when I walked by.  I guess tomorrow I'll see what they've done.

Passing the school there was a man taking down the summer message from the sign out front and told me that school starts here on the 26th.

I walked 6.2 miles which was 11.978 steps.

I hung the first laundry out on my new clothes line today.  : )
We have a full very nice finished basement in the house and my laundry room is down there.  A door and stairway lead out to the back yard.  I haven't been using the stairway because it was kind of yucky and slippery because of all the mildew.  Ken power washed it this morning and now it is nice and clean.

We are thinking of closing in the stairway to the weather.  We are working on some ideas but will probably wait a little while before doing it.  We have some work up on Happy Trails that we want to finish first.

Ken is back to HT this afternoon and I'm just home doing some cleaning and a little of this and that.

This evening at 5:30 is my first time going to the book club at the library.  Looking forward to that.

Have to go and get the clothes off the line now.
Enjoy your day.

Clothes on the line always look great. Nice that you can go outside directly from the laundry room. Your idea sounds like a good one!

Those clothes look really nice on that line! They smell so fresh when they are dried outside.

What ever happened to the good old days before the dryer? Nice to see you keeping the simpler ways alive.

Love your quote for the day and want you to know that I always say nice things about you behind your back - just ask my husband! :-) I love that clothesline too. I bet your clothes smell so fresh and clean. How nice that you have a finished basement. No basements in Arizona and I do miss that since I grew in homes with basements in Colorado and Utah. Enjoy the rest of your day.
