Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Energy bonus

The thermometer read 11 degrees this morning.  All the snow was gone and there was no wind. The sun came out for a little while and then the clouds took over.
I walked straight down my road and just as I passed up the second entrance to the lake I came across Barb on her way to the lake and we stopped for little chat.  She took a tumble on ice yesterday but didn't get hurt.
I turned down a side road that I hadn't walk on before to find a house of someone I know and didn't realize they lived so close to me only 2.5 miles away.  I figured it would be a nice walk on a different route.  I started down this road.  I should say up because it was up a hill.  It was a lot steeper than it looks in the picture.
I couldn't remember exactly the way to the street I wanted and made a couple of wrong turns and then had to backtrack but I eventually found the house.  It had turned into a 3.3 mile walk to the house.
Then I walked to the main road and walked until I came to the park which was on the left and it was a little farther down the road than I thought.  I walked in at the entrance that is at the opposite side of the park where I usually enter.  This is my first look at the lake this way.
Just walked about a quarter way around the lake and then took this trail which reminded me of Happy Trails to the side entrance of the park down the road from my house.
Then walked home.
I saw a few runners the short while I was at the lake.  I don't like to walk around the lake on Saturday because of the runners.

Don't know where all the wildlife was at this morning because I didn't see any.  Maybe they were waiting till it warmed up a bit.

My steps on this walk were 14,380.
My striiv gave me some bonus energy points this morning.  I've reached the 1000 mile mark with my striiv.

I made us French Toast for breakfast this morning.
I made some chocolate chip cookies, did a bit of reading and just puttered about the house.  We've been home all day.  I'm on my laptop again because the new and old computers are still talking.  I should be using my new computer by this evening. : )  I didn't realize I had so much stuff on my computer to take this long to transfer it all!!

I'm sitting here in the living room by the front windows and just realized that it is snowing again.  Wonder what the morning will bring.

Since it's ground hog day we are going to watch the movie Ground Hog Day later.  It is one of our favorites.

Till next time........
A happy day to you.

First comment...

Oh Oh.

Is it a link to SPAM/crap?

Guess we can't get SPAM on a Mac, but I'm still not going to try it.

Hmmmmmm, it's been a long time, since any "try-to-leave-crap-links-in-comments" were showing up. Bahhh-humbug... Hope it's not starting up again.

But as I said, I did not click on the link, so I don't know what it takes one to. Because I don't like such.

A long walk for you today...congrats on reaching 1,000 miles on your Striiv. I really think that is cool! It will take me a while to get there. Sounds like a nice cozy relaxing day for you. I visited Ken's blog but had a hard time leaving a comment. Will try again, because it was quite interesting. Enjoy your Sunday tomorrow. With your walking and your cheerful, happy outlook, you are my role model :-D
