Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A pretty day

That snow coming up from the south yesterday just missed us as I though it would. This morning it was 30 degrees out and a bit of a wind BUT the sun came out and I saw a whole bunch of blue sky - it was wonderful. : )  I walked around the lake and felt sunshine on my face.
Not very many people out but all the people I saw were lake regulars.

I saw the heron standing in the water as I stopped on the red footbridge to look around at the scenery.
I've been saying for a while that I've been seeing some kind of a hawk but could never get a picture of it.  Well, today as I walked along I looked up and there he was sitting in the top branches of a tree.  Picture isn't all that good because I had to zoom in but still I was so happy to finally get a picture of him.
It was so nice being out walking in the sunshine.
I found a nickel.
I walked 7.2 miles which was 13,931 steps.

Finished the comic jigsaw puzzle.
We still aren't puzzled out and these next ones should be a bit of a challenge.  Three puzzles came in the box, each 500 pieces, and each puzzle was in a separate bag.  We dumped all three puzzles in a heap on the table and are going to do all three of them at once.

The day has been so pretty with the sun shining in a bright blue sky.  I haven't really done much of anything today.  I'm just about done with the book I'm reading and I read it sitting in the chair by the front window with the sun shining on me.  My book is very good and I'll tell you about it tomorrow.

A happy Friday to you my friends.

Debbie - The exercises I do are with 4 and 5 pound weights as well as some floor exercises.  I recorded some Margaret Richard, Body Electric shows quite a few years ago and try to do those 4 times a week.  Once I get going I'm pretty good at keeping it up, but if I stop doing them its hard to get back to them.

Well, I can tell you don't have cats!!

We love puzzles as well. And we have some wonderful ones. But we must put them on a special puzzle board that folds up when we aren't working on the puzzle because if we don't, pieces wind up missing. We never see how those missing pieces walk away, but I suspect they have help from our two cats!

:-)

I am getting into the puzzle mood however!!

You will have a challenge, working 3 puzzles at one time. It will be fun though!

That 3 in 1 puzzle will be quite a challenge. I love this comic book puzzle. Years ago my hubby collected comic books and I think he still has quite a few in a trunk somewhere. I think I used to watch that Body Electric show some time ago. I am also trying to work with weights more. Have heard it is very good to do. My orthopedic doctor told me to do some yoga for my knee. I used to do yoga but haven't been able to motivate myself to get back into it. I will look forward to hearing about your book tomorrow.

Wow! You are brave to do three puzzles at one time! Keep us posted! You have such beautiful places for your walking. My walks don't give me views of the wildlife you see.

You remind me of my good friend... She is obsessed with exercise --and does it WAY too much... She's a little younger than I am --but is having some health problems now (which is slowing her down --and keeping her from her running, etc.).... Wish she'd just walk --which is much healthier...

But--I am surprised that you do other exercises too... I do well to get my walking in.... ha

Hugs,
Betsy

Looks to be a red-tail hawk perhaps. Beautiful picture!

I love puzzles too - but it would be ideal if we had an extra table dedicated to them. Beautiful photos and nice hawk capture :)

Hooray for finally capturing a picture of that hawk. I frequently see them in our backyard and know it can be hard to get pictures of them.
Wow, three puzzles at once. That sounds very challenging. The comic book puzzle is very cute.
Your quote today made me smile. Great advice.

I envy anyone taking photos of birds!
I Love them and when I w3as away recently I tried and tried to get some good seagull pics for my blog - no such luck!!
He looks like a beautiful big hawk - have you got a book you take on your walks to identify the birds you see?

Thanks for visiting my GYB post!
