Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A painted office

It was quite chilly this morning - only 17 degrees but there was no wind.
I walked my connect the path route that has the trail behind the school in it.  I feel a little bit like I'm up at Happy Trails when I walk there because the paths are the same as the ones I'm making with the wood chips.

I encountered a few other people walking along the paths but the animals  stayed hidden and I just heard some birds.

My toes got a little bit cold but I imagined my feet in nice warm slippers up near the fireplace and it wasn't long before my feet warmed up.  I'm not kidding, it really works!

Today I took 12,567 steps on my walk.

I had some breakfast, did my morning around the house routine and then got started with my painting project.  I spent a few hours painting and I think it went very well!!  The first coat covered great and dried really fast.  It didn't need a whole second coat but I went around and did a little touch up here and there.
I love the color and the room is so bright and cheery.
The pictures don't show the real color but this one is pretty close.  I took it from the opposite corner where the computer will be.
I put the Secretary Desk in place and brought in a rocking chair too.
This corner is for the computer desk.  I need to get Ken to help me take it apart, bring it down from the loft and put it together again.  It's just a bit more than I can handle on my own.
And that is as far as I got today.  Now I have the big job of moving into the room.  The kitchen desk where my computer is now will have to get cleaned and straightened out as well as the loft now that the desk from up there will be in my office.  So there are  three areas that are getting moved around.
I want to get some nice new bright curtains for my office too.  I had red and white checked curtains that just don't go with lavender!!

At the kitchen desk I will put my laptop so I can get to my recipes on line.  I'm going to have my cookbooks there too and that is where I can plan meals and make out shopping lists.  I feel like I moved into a new house.  It is really fun for me to change things around.

Hopefully we can get the computer desk moved this evening so I can continue with my project tomorrow.

Have a few things to do yet this afternoon around the house and then I hope to get a little reading in.

Hope your day is a sunny one.

So lovely...a very pretty color. You did a great job and did not even spill any on the carpet. It is interesting to note that we are still figuring out how to live in our homes...you have a good excuse...me not so much.

Great color! You sure got a lot done today! I love how you imagined your toes warm and they became warm! The way we think and the things we keep in our minds have such an impact on our lives. Continued good luck as you complete your office project!

I agree with you that it's fun to change things around a bit from time to time. It will be so nice to have everything all fresh and organized for the new year.

Love the color...it's similar to my sewing room. We just painted every room in our house.
