A look back at my garden

25 degrees this morning, no wind and it was cloudy. The sun made a short peek out from behind the clouds but it didn't last long.  I walked my connect the path with the trail route.

Since its a holiday it was like an early Sunday morning and there were only a couple of people out.  A nice quiet walk and it was great to be out walking in the fresh cold air.

I saw a fox again but don't think it was the same one because this was about 2 1/2 miles from where I saw one the other day.  I'm not sure how far their territory is.  This one didn't stay around for a picture.   A few people were concerned that the last fox followed me and didn't run off.   I was a bit concerned too because they usually are skittish and run off but I think he just wanted to go the way I was going.  When he got a bit too close, I turned, stamped my foot and he ran off.

Walking along a path I saw a blue bird.  He flew up in the trees and when I looked up to see him, I saw that he had joined a whole mess of blue birds.  I'd never seen so many together before.  I would guess that there were at least 15 of them.  Tried to take a picture but the blue color didn't show up.

I took 13,161 steps on this walk.

Thanks for the good thoughts and prayers for the house deal to go through.  Still waiting to hear after putting in our counter offer.
I was looking through some old pictures of the Savage house and came across some pictures I had taken of the gardens around the yard.  My goal was to get rid of all the grass and just have gardens.   I spent many enjoyable hours in the yard. This picture was taken standing on the front porch.  It makes me sad to see what the yard looks like now.
I started reading A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness but just couldn't get into it.  I read 60 pages before giving up.

Just hanging around home today and not doing too much of anything. We've been working on the 3 puzzles and it is quite a challenge but we're getting there.  I will be starting another book later on.  The second book in Anne Perry book series featuring Monk.

Till next time......
A happy day to you.

Debbie - You noticed and got it exactly right.  I made my blog colors to match my new office.  :)

Yes, your Savage garden was beautiful. You sure don't mind hard work.
I, for one, would be more comfortable if you would stay away from foxes! MJ

You had a lovely garden at your old house. I hope the sale goes through and you can move on but keep the good memories. Enjoy the rest of your day!

15 bluebirds sounds like a happy way to start the day.
I'm so glad you shared this picture of your beautiful garden. I can tell you gave it a lot of TLC.

Wow---your garden was beautiful. Why did you all decide to scale down to a condo????? We may have to do that sometime when the yard gets to be too much for us....

Hope the house sells. That will be a monkey off of your back... Ken retires soon, doesn't he??? I know you both are looking forward to spending more time at Happy Trails.

Hugs,
Betsy

Hi there - sounds like another nice walk. That is not likely to be the same fox, although they can roam. Wishing you the best on the home sale. I know that is stressful from personal experience. Have a great day. Art

Glad you stamped your foot, at that fox. Glad you were a bit worried. Worried, in an unknown situation, is good.

Your idea for all garden and no grass, in your old home, is/was a delightful one. I agree! Who needs grass?!?

"A Discovery of Witches" by Deborah Harkness, would not be something which you would get into, I don't think. But I don't want to discourage any reader, ahead of time... When I did enjoy a book, myself.

Because sometimes, a reader will surprise me, and like a book I did, which I didn't expect them to. :-)

Btw, I did not get out the next book, after "A Discovery of Witches." By then, I didn't have any interest in getting back into the deep plot. One was enough.

Not familiar (right now anyway) with Anne Perry books. Will look! I always have a *zillion* book possibilities, on my Maybe-Read-List!!!
