This is the day the Lord as made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.

A little blue

I left a little after 7 on my walk this morning so it wasn't completely dark out and there was a little glow in the sky.  It was 41 degrees.
I walked on over to the lake.  Along the path there I spotted a couple of deer.  Here is one that stayed to get her picture taken.
It was a cloudy morning but at least there was no rain and I didn't have to carry an umbrella with me which was so nice.  This is what the sky looked like as I got to the lake.
Half way around the lake I got a peek at some blue sky.  It was enough for me to do a little happy dance along the path.
It didn't take long for the clouds to cover up the blue sky but it was so nice to see that glimpse of blue.  We might be getting some of the snow headed up from the south but we are right on the edge and I think it will pass us by.  Either way is fine by me.

The geese were all up swimming around, making quite a ruckus as usual and I saw a few scuffles among some of them.  Groups of them were leaving and landing as well.   I saw the hawk again.

Just a few people out.
Today on my walk I took 14,432 steps.

It took me a while to get started with things this morning because I worked on the puzzle right after breakfast and then read.
But I finally got the urge to work and cleaned the downstairs.

I have been really bad about doing my exercises in the afternoon and haven't done them at all since just before Christmas.  Today I just made my mind up to get them started again.  I feel good now that I did them.  I'm sure tomorrow I'll be a bit sore but it will be a good sore knowing I'm back on track again.

Ironed some of Ken's shirts while watching a couple of I Love Lucy shows.  One of the ones I watched is where she tries to make pizza.  She could take some lessons from Ken. : ) Won't be ironing that much longer.  Just 9 more working days.

So that brings me to the end of my post for the day.
Hope all is well with you and that you have found joy in your day.
Happyone : )

  1. My, my. I seem to be the first comment. That doesn't happen often.

I am sure your husband is looking forward to this retirement. It will be an adjustment for both of you.

  3. It's going to be a blast! No limits to what you can do with your time, unless one of you decides to go back to work as John did. Grrr...

A bit of blue is about all that we saw here today as well. Hoping that the storm scoots out to sea. Haven't heard what this one's name is yet.

  4. That is so great that Ken can retire. Wish hubby and I could both retire and just be home together all day. That would be fun. We enjoy being home together during the summer so that will have to do for now. You walk so much, I am wondering what additional exercises you do. Do you work with weights at all? I am trying to tone my arms and upper body with some little five pound weights, but I'm afraid I'm not as consistent with it as I should be. Looks like you had a beautiful morning to walk.

  5. Nine more working days, huh??? That's neat!!!! AND--you won't be ironing that many more shirts for him... Yeah!!!!!!

I'm sure you both will enjoy retirement. When the weather gets better, you can go to Happy Trails and stay longer... That sounds awesome.

    Hugs,

  7. It will be great when your husband retires. Those were the best years for us after Jim retired.

  8. What an exciting time for you and Ken as you count down to his retirement. It's great that you are both still healthy and interested in so many things. I think this will be a fun new chapter in your lives.
We have had downpours all day which are soon supposed to turn into snow. Always a big event for us down here :).

  9. We've been retired ten years and have enjoyed every minute of it! I hope that will be true with your husband.

No blue sky here for days and days. We had a bit of snow this afternoon!

  10. Another one of those interesting weather happenings... How even a cloudy day, will show peaks of clear sky, at dawn and again, at sunset...

    :-)
