Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Whats that toilet doing down there?

A cool crisp 32 degrees this morning as I walked around the lake.   It never did rain last night so it was dry, no fog and I got to watch the sun rise over the lake.

There were quite a few others out by the lake, walking, running and even a bike rider.

I stopped to watch a squirrel run up a tree with leaves in her mouth and add them to the nest she was making in the crook of a tree.

I stayed to the lower path all around the lake and didn't go up to the Bunny Trail just for something different.  Then leaving the lake I didn't take the path behind the church along the stream but stayed on the road that runs along on the other side of the stream.
At the end of the road I turned right onto another road and then headed home.  I looked down over the bridge at the water as I crossed over the stream farther down the road and laughed when I saw what was sitting down there by the water. : )
I never know what I'll come upon on one of my walks!!!

I found a lucky penny.
12,866 steps on my walk today.

Not a very exciting day staying home cleaning but feel good that I got the upstairs done.  Tomorrow its the downstairs turn.

I finished reading The Racketeer by John Grisham.  It was good but not great.  I found it slow moving but kept on reading because I wanted to find out how it ended.
Later today I'm going to start the newest Kate Morton book, The Secret Keeper.  I really liked her other books and look forward to reading this latest one.

It didn't take long to finish the little baby slipper - its so tiny and works up really quick.  I'll make the other one today and start on the hat.

Hope your Christmas plans and coming along smoothly and you can enjoy the holiday.
A happy day to you.

One of my favorite Christmas songs is the Little Drummer Boy.
Such a simple gift but given from the heart.

Come they told me
Pa rum pum pum pum
A new born King to see,
Pa rum pum pum pum
Our finest gifts we bring
Pa rum pum pum pum
To lay before the King.
Pa rum pum pum pum
Rum pum pum pum
 Rum pum pum pum
So to honor Him
Pa rum pum pum pum
When we come.

Little Baby
Pa rum pum pum pum
I am a poor boy too,
Pa rum pum pum pum
I have no gift to bring
Pa rum pum pum pum
That's fit to give our King
Pa rum pum pum pum
Rum pum pum pum
 Rum pum pum pum
Shall I play for you?
Pa rum pum pum pum
On my drum.

Mary nodded
Pa rum pum pum pum
The ox and lamb kept time
Pa rum pum pum pum
I played my drum for Him.

Comment Replies from yesterday:
Beth - Yes, I brought the chocolate chippers with my yesterday.  I don't think they'd let me in the door without them now. : )
Sorry folks - no hair pictures.  Didn't take any yesterday and today it just doesn't look like it did yesterday!  I can never get it to go like it supposed to so I just let it air dry on its own and I never know how my hair is going to come out! : )

I was worried about the cookies since you didn't mention them yesterday. LOL

The Little Drummer Boy was my sister Mary's favorite Christmas song. I think of her each time I hear it and it brings back happy memories for me.

Hmmm...other than the obvious lack of privacy, that would make the most restful of restrooms. Someone just couldn't get that old thing to the landfill or what? Who knows, right?

Oh, believe me, I hear you about the hairdo. Ditto right here. I'm sure that if my hairdresser saw me now she'd disown me.

Love the sunrise picture. My hair never looks the same way twice it seems. Had a good hair day last week and several of my students said they sure liked my hair, what had I done different and I had no idea and I sure couldn't get it to do the same thing again the next day. That is funny that there was an old toilet out there in the open like that. It is so funny what some people do...like, what are they thinking!?! I love the Drummer Boy song too...I loved that Christmas show about the drummer boy when I was a kid too. I guess that show wouldn't be "politically correct" nowdays. Have a good end to the week!

Your title today was most intriguing :). I'd love to know the answer to that question.
I can definitely relate to the hair topic. It seems I do the same thing every day, but the results are always surprising.

I like what you saw on your walk but what in the world is a toilet there? maybe it is to make us smile

Hmm..
I would think it was a pain in the back side getting it there!

Looks like a pretty place for a walk, regardless of the toilet :)

I too love the "Little Drummer Boy", and it was always one of my favorite songs to sing at Christmas time.

Enjoy this wonderful Christmas season.

Warm thoughts ....
