Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

The Visit

This morning was a misty foggy one with a temperature of 45 so a pretty warm one again.  Didn't walk any of my routes but just had a random walk here and there.  I stayed along the sidewalks and walked around a few parking lots looking for coins.  The picture was taken behind some buildings in a professional park down the road from my house.

I only saw one other person walking and didn't even see any deer or other animals.
Heard birds and saw a bunch of crows but it was a very quiet morning.  Seemed much earlier than it was.

I found a quarter.
My steps for this walk were 12,680.

My son David, and his two children who of course are my two grandchildren got here at 10:00 and got to spend the whole day here with us.  It was a very good visit.  We had lots to eat and those pumpkin cookies by the way were a big hit and every one was eaten up.  We decided they were more like little pieces of cake than a cookie.  Kind of like muffin tops!!
We played, colored and it was an enjoyable day just being with them. : )
After they were gone I realized that I hadn't taken any pictures.

So now they are gone and the house seems very quiet.
We will read a little, watch some television, I'll knit a little and of course have some ice cream too.

Hope your day was a happy one.

Our grandchildren accept us for ourselves,
without rebuke or effort to change us,
as no one in our entire lives has ever done,
not our parents, siblings, spouses, friends -
and hardly ever our own grown children.

What a lovely, lovely day!!!!!

And you don't need any pics. They are in your mind and heart, forever. :-)

Betcha' "Grands" would rather not have "Nana" snapping pics all the time. -sigh- -sigh- -sigh- I know kids don't like it so, 'grands' probably don't either, but don't speak up as quickly/loudly. -grin-

So.... Betcha' the peaceful, warm, lovely, no-pics day was purrrrfect for them. :-)
