Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Sunday

I got up early this morning so I could get a full walk in before going to church.  It was 35 degrees, dark and very foggy when I started out.  I took this picture on the way back home on the path behind the church.  It was light but still a bit foggy.
Quite a few people out considering it was early Sunday morning and the weather.
I saw a few deer around the lake.  Seeing four rabbits this morning I realized it had been a while since I'd seen any.  The geese were just waking up and starting to get noisy.

Forgot to mention yesterday that I found a lucky penny to start of the month of December.
I added up the coins I found in November on my walks and it was quite a good month.
3 quarters, 5 dimes, 2 nickels, and 22 pennies for a grand total of $1.57.
Today I walked 6.2 miles.

In church today all was quiet and pastor was praying at the end of the sermon.  Then the quiet was broken by a cell phone ringing - the sound was a train coming.  It was distracting but still it made me smile.  You don't expect to hear a train coming along in church.

We went out this afternoon to do a few errands and now here I am at home on the computer.  I have a lot of visits to make here in blogland, but first I have to get some pizza dough started in the bread machine.  It's pizza night at home. : )

Numbers 6:24-26
The Lord bless you and keep you.

The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you.

The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.

Have a wonderful Sunday my friends.

BettyC - The tractor barn as the name says is a home for the tractor. : )  The sides are lined with tools and the bump out is where the radial arm saw is.  Upstairs is storage.

Alas, I did not make it to church this morning as I refuse to drive in freezing rain. John did, though, but he goes so early as he sets up chairs and attends a Bible study, et cetera.

We had the same fog, though this afternoon...a real pea soup fog.

Oh cell phones in church...don't get me started. I just hope my whistling one never starts up.

The Bible reference from Numbers is one that I have often sung through the years. It is part of the Lutkin benediction that also includes the Sevenfold Amen. Such a moving benediction when sung at the end of a worship service or concert. Also, going WAY back, it was the MYF (Methodist Youth Fellowship) benediction. We closed all our youth meetings on Sunday nights with it.
Love the thought of pizza! Think of me while you are enjoying it.:)

Oh My... How embarrassing for someone having the cellphone go off at that time... I always have to remind myself to turn mine off (or to vibrate).... ANYHOW--that would make me smile also...A train, huh???? Maybe it was coming by to take all of you to heaven!!!!!ha

Hope you have had a good day..

Happy Advent Sunday.
Hugs,
Betsy

I can just imagine how the congregation must have felt when they heard the train sound. ;-)

Sounds like a good Sunday. The owner of the phone was probably quite embarassed by the ringing. Pretty funny. By the way, I am so excited...I think my hubby is getting me a Striiv Pedometer for Christmas!! Enjoy your week!

Wow, hope that church cell phone call, was for a needed person, like a doctor, etc.

But somehow, I don't see a doc, with a train whistle ring.

Although, why not? He'd probably be a nice doc. -grin-
