Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Christmas cards

A foggy damp morning for walking today.  It was a warm 48 degrees and I ended up taking a layer off because I got pretty warm.

It was a very quiet walk around the lake this morning and I only saw three other people out by the lake.

One deer was along the path and I saw a lot of cardinals.  Their red color just pops out at you.  The geese were all sitting quietly on the water.  Then half of the way around the lake.  Then they all woke up and were as noisy as ever.  I wonder what they are saying as they wake up.  Good Morning to each other, or maybe discussing where the best place is to have breakfast, or maybe telling each other about there dreams they had. : )

It was still foggy when I got back home.
On my walk this morning I took 12,923 steps.

The other day when I was walking I came across this car parked on the side of the road.  Excluding muddy off roading vehicles, I think it is the dirtiest car I have ever seen.  It looks like it has never had a wash.  I just couldn't imagine driving around in a car that dirty.  Could you imagine my shiny red car like that!? : )

I put on all the Christmas lights around the house, turned on Christmas music and spent a pleasant time writing out the rest of my Christmas cards.  It is nice to be done with them.  Just have to get some Christmas stamps and get them in the mail.

The fog hasn't burned off today and it has been a very dreary day outside.  It's nice inside and I'm glad I didn't have to go anywhere.
I think I'll go and read for a while before doing a few more things around the house.

Hope this day is bringing good things your way.
Happyone : )
We believe this is the Christ,
The hope of heaven sent to earth.
We believe He ruled on high,
But came in lowly human birth.
And we believe this King will reign,
And all the world will know his name.
And those who bow, He will receive:
We believe, yes, we believe.

I love these foggy pictures you take. I have always found foggy mornings to be so beautiful.

Karen, people are in three camps about cars. Those, like you, who want the cleanest car possible; those, like mudders and off-roaders, who want the dirtiest car possible; those, like me, who want it clean, but the weather doesn't allow us to keep up with it. It's halfway between.

For a while, my son was in the muddy camp. I was so appalled to have his vehicle parked in my yard. Ugh. Now he's come up to my level and, perhaps one day, we'll make it to yours. =D

I can imagine the red cardinals were a bright spot on a foggy morning. We have a gray gloomy day here too.
That car is ... YUCKY! No, I can't imagine yours ever looking like that.
Enjoy your day.

I like to have a clean and tidy car inside and out. Some people use the backseat of their car like a garbage can...I can't stand that. My car needs to be washed now, but it is nothing like the one in the person. It is just a bit dusty. Always nice to have the Christmas cards finished. I always get mine out early, then I get lots of cards back in return and we really enjoy Christmas cards and letters at our house! Sounds like you are having a lovely, cozy day. Enjoy

You are ahead of me on the cards. I am still working on mine. I do have the stamps for them, though.:-)

YES---we believe... I love to turn on the Christmas lights and put the Christmas music on LOUDLY ---and just enjoy Christmas... SO WONDERFUL!!!!

That truly is a dirty car. I had a friend whose car was always filthy ---outside AND inside... I don't know how people can live like that...

Hugs
Betsy

I know, you are right. I have thought of the season for snow and I am glad baby Jesus did not have to deal with snow at his nativity.

We are having so many dreary days, are we not? Our ambiance and Christmas lights, are getting a lot of use. :-))))))))

Our cars get muddy from the bottom up just by driving along our country lanes but that car looks as if it has been splashed by some machinery because there is much less mud on the sides. I keep the inside fairly tidy but at the moment I'm carrying buckets of gravel every day which even with a dust sheet in the boot gets everywhere.
