Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

The fallen tree

This morning it was 42 degrees outside, dark and even when the sun rose it was cloudy.  I'm kind a missing the sun about now.  A few sprinkles of rain around too but it didn't amount to anything so I stayed dry.

I walked one of my connect the paths route.

I saw a few white tails of deer bobbing along again and once it got lighter out saw more than just their tails!

No people along the paths but a couple along on the sidewalks walking dogs.

One of the paths had lots of small trees, branches and leaves all over the path but it was easy just to step over them.
The other paths you could see where they already had cut the trees that fell over the path and got the leaves and branches cleared away.
But one of the trees they hadn't gotten to yet and it was a pretty big one.  I came across this one blocking the way to one of the footbridges.  Pictures not that great because it wasn't quite light out yet and I had to lighten the pictures up a little.
Well, this wasn't going to keep my from walking my path, so I went to the left of all this and climbed up on the footbridge through here.
Once up on the footbridge I looked back and took this picture.
Maybe it's a good thing I didn't go walking the other day!

Walking toward home down the sidewalk I spotted these friendly little ghosts flying in a circle around the tree.  : )
I walked 6.3 miles.
During October walks didn't find all that many coins.
1 Quarter, 1 Nickel, and 11 pennies for a grand total of 41 cents.  Not so great but they got added to the glass banks.

I'm at home today doing some chores and just enjoying my day.  I do wish the sun would make an appearance but I know it's up there somewhere and one day it will shine again!!

Not sure what a feel like doing yet this afternoon but something good will pop up. : )

Happy November to you my friends. : )

I am very glad that you didn't go walking the other day. It would be interesting to know what time of day that tree fell. It was cloudy and gray, though mild, all day here, too. I know the sun is out there, but I'd love to see it again.

Oh---sad to see the fallen trees... BUT--overall, you all did fine through that storm, didn't you???? It was a wicked one for sure.

Love the little ghosts.
Hugs,
Betsy
P.S. Glad that everything is fine at Happy Trails. Two feet of snow???? Yipes.

Hope the sun puts in an appearance for you today.
It looks like it was a good move not to be out walking the other day. The flying ghost picture is so cute and Halloweeny. I saw a few hanging in our trees when I was out walking yesterday. Tis the season.
