Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

The chicken recipe from yesterday

Another nice crisp chilly morning for my walk today.  Only 34 degrees and I wore an extra layer of clothing.  I was nice and warm while walking but it was still nice when the sun came up to warm things up a little.
I walked around the lake.  There was a mist just over the lake.  I took this picture on one side of the lake.  There is a heron standing on the rock and just after I took the picture, he looked at me, made a squawking noise and then flew away.
When I got to the other side of the lake I stopped to take this picture of the fall leaves reflected in the lake.
I saw a couple of deer around the lake.  On the path to the lake I heard rustling in the trees and figured that must have been a couple of deer too.  It's just too dark when I start out to see anything.
Quite a few people around the lake but a lot of new people.  Didn't see very many of the regulars!
There were a LOT of fishermen.  I didn't count them but there must have been over a dozen!!

I made a slight detour on the way home through the apartments and walked 6.7 miles.

We both liked the chicken I made last night for supper.  It was tender, moist and tasty and I will definitely make it again.  I looked for a recipe on line and ended up combining a couple of recipes and added some ingredients of my own to come up with it.
I didn't measure but just guessed how much to use.  I'll have to add the recipe to my Meals Matter cookbook later today so I won't forget how I made it.  I wish I had taken a picture but didn't think of it until after we ate it.  I'll take a picture next time for the cookbook.

I used chicken tenderloins that were skinless and boneless.

I combined flour, garlic powder, basil, and  Parmesan cheese in one bowl.

In another bowl I put milk and an egg and mixed together.

The third bowl had Italian bread crumbs and cheddar cheese.

Dipped the chicken in the flour mixture, then the milk and egg and lastly in the bread crumbs and cheddar cheese.

Put the chicken in a glass baking dish sprayed with pan.
Baked in the oven at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.

Finished up the ironing and the last of the I Love Lucy season 5 disc.  I then went on line and bought season 6 and also seasons 7-9 which come as one.  I don't usually buy DVD's anymore because I can get anything on Netflix but I really like Lucy and like to watch them often.  Once I get these I'll be all set to do another batch of ironing. : )

We will be leaving again for Happy Trails when Ken gets home from work.  Not much to pack up to bring because we will be coming home again tomorrow evening.  Hope we have some nice weather and we get some more of the siding up.
We will of course stop at Brenda's for a late supper once we get up there.  We have a few favorite servers there now who know us!!

I'm just going to knit for the rest of the afternoon until Ken gets here and then off we'll go.

Hope your Friday is a happy one.

Two glorious views in your photos. The chicken recipe does sound good. I made something similar this week, but I rolled my chicken in french fried onion rings after dipping them in egg.
I'll get in touch with you when I get back from my trip. MJ

The chicken recipe does sound good. I always buy the chicken tenderloins now as I like the smaller size over a chicken breast.
The I Love Lucy DVDs sound like a worthwhile investment. Always good for a laugh.
I hope the weather cooperates for you up at Happy Trails.

I think I will try your chicken recipe. Sounds delicous. I think the Lucy DVDs are a good purchase....especially now with everything on TV being about the election it seems...depending on which candidate you support, all the election news is either boring or depressing. Oh well, enjoy your time at Happy Trails!

We once had a heron in the neighborhood, but I think the development has driven much of the water life further away toward the lake from the creek.

I hope you have a good time at Happy Trails and accomplish what you have on your list.

I rarely iron any more, but when I do, my choice of movie to watch is Aliens!

I spy a large bird, in one of those pics. :-)

Lovely all. I love mist.

32 degrees here (Sat.) when I got up. All I did was open the front door and take a pic of the *spent* flowers in the pot on the stoop. Didn't bounce down and get the papers even. Just closed the door, on the COLD. ,-)
