Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A new month begins : )

A cool 42 degrees this morning and a bit on the foggy side over by the lake.  Here's a picture of the morning moon over the lake through the fog.  There is a bunch of geese flying away from the lake over off to the right.  The sunrise is behind me and if you want to take a look at it and see what I saw, hop on over to my photo blog.
A Monday and as usual there were few people around.  There could have been less people too because it is darker in the mornings now and some people wait until it gets light before walking.

I saw what must have been hundreds of birds flying over head and then landing in some of the trees by the lake.  Then a few seconds later they all took off again.  I think they may have been starlings.

Not much else happening around the lake.  It was a nice quiet peaceful walk and the way I like to start my day. : )

I walked 6.4 miles.
Counted up the coins I found from last month and the amount was one of the lowest I've had.
Only 2 dimes and 17 pennies to add to my banks this month.

Ken changed the oil in my car yesterday and my car is still nice and clean so I decided to go out for a little drive since it was such a nice sunny day.  While I was out driving around I stopped in at the library.  Returned two books and got out two more.  Still have one at home I'm reading but will renew that tomorrow on line.  From there I went to Marshals to look around and see if there was anything I just had to have.  There wasn't but it was fun looking around.

Home in time for a late lunch and then just puttering around the house.  Sat out on the deck for a while and ate a granny smith apple.

Hope your Monday is a good one.
Oh and Happy October First! : )

Comment replies from yesterday:
BettyC - The verse from yesterday came from the King James Version.  The reason you couldn't find it is because I had written down the wrong chapter.  The correct chapter is 143.  Thanks for bringing it to my attention and I have made the correction. : )

That's a beautiful photo. I'm going to go see the eastern sky in a minute. Your library is open on Sunday? Wow. What a concept.

The photo is beautiful!

I miss my library at home. The library here is in the middle of downtown with all of those one way streets so I haven't been there yet.

Now wait a minute. Today is Tuesday. Yesterday was Monday. If you said "yesterday" yesterday wasn't that Sunday? I'm so confused.

This has prompted me to realize I am overdue a browsing at Marshall's!:) Also, I have a difficult time leaving the library once I go.:( I spent many hours in libraries when I was a student. That was where I worked when in high school and college. A library is like a haven to me.:)
