Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A good Friday

This morning was a sunny one once the sun rose and it was a cool crisp morning with a temperature of 47 degrees.
I went on a random walk today - no special route.  I walked here and there wherever it looked inviting.  Only saw a couple other walkers.  They must have all been over at the lake. Walked along paths and streets.  Just snapped this picture along the way.  I'm nearing the end of my walk here with about a half mile or so to go.
It was really a very quiet walk and didn't even see any wildlife.  Still it was nice to be outside to see the start of another day.
I walked 6.7 miles.

I finished reading the book, The Day I Ate Whatever I Wanted by Elizabeth Berg.  When I picked it up I didn't realize that it was a book of short stories which I don't usually like, but I liked these.  I like the way she writes and the next time I go to the library I will pick up another of her books.
The next book on my list to read is The House at Riverton by Kate Morton and I'm bringing it with me up to Happy Trails and hope to start it there.  This is the third and last of her books so far.  I've just learned that she has a new book coming out next month called the Secret Keeper and I'll have to get on the reserved list for it at the library once it comes out.

I got the little bit of stuff that we will be bringing to Happy Trail packed up and ready to go.  The weather report up that way doesn't sound too good for tomorrow - 60 % chance of rain so we might be home earlier tomorrow that we planned.

So now I'm waiting for Ken to get home so we can leave.  The earliest he'll get here is 4:00 so I have a little time yet before we leave.  I still have to put the clean sheets back on the bed.  Guess I'll go do that now.

We will have a late supper once we get up there at Brenda's.  Pizza here we come!!

Hope your Friday is sunny and bright.

I adore short stories. It's why I like reading blogs so well. I have the attention span of a gnat.

There's more color in your corner than my own. I took a photo today to share on my blog tomorrow of the color and, trust me, nothing as pretty as yours.

Have a good weekend and don't put overmuch faith in the weather frogs. Perhaps it'll turn out to be the most delightful of days!

I am enjoying the start of the fall color change and your photo illustrates that so nicely.
I have probably already told you, but I LOVE Elizabeth Berg. I think I have read all of her books.

I spent an hour or so reading The House at Riverton today. It is another good one. I didn't know she had a new one coming out. I'll have to be on the lookout for it.
Hope the weatherman is wrong and you have a good weekend at Happy Trails.

First, you know I've not been around a lot lately, I LOVE your choice of "Happy Trails"...

You have lots more color than we do. I just noticed a little tip of color on a few trees as I as driving to work this morning!

'The House at Riverton"... Thank you! I don't think I have read that one, and it sounds DELICIOUS!

I've been thinking of getting some more, of this kind of book. Books by such authors. However one says it. And YOU happily, tell of one! Thank you!

Wishing you good weather, up at Happy Trails! It's gonna' be changeable here toooo. In 80's today/Sat. And down to 60's on Sun. Ouch! The barometer is gonna' CHANGE, big time. Which means aches/and/pains in our Olden bods, here. ,-)

I'm glad you enjoyed the Elizabeth Berg book.
Love the fall picture! We don't get much in changing colors here but the cooler temperatures are great.
